Legitimate Work from Home

If this is the wrong place for this type of question, I apologize. The short version of the question is: does anyone know of a legitimate work from home site?

The long version of the question: my wife has advanced dementia, and needs constant care. She doesn't qualify for Social Security, and has no retirement. So, I need something I can do from home part-time. Our Zazzle earnings are roughly one tenth of what they used to be, so we need something to make up the difference. If anyone knows of anything, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Some people find help from attorneys who specialize in social security, so that might be something to look into. The above is a link to Amazon Mechanical Turk. Consistent work there can lead to higher paying small jobs and can amount to a decent extra income, from what I have read.

If she is 65, she qualifies for age-based SSI even if she doesn't qualify for Social Security. Call Social Security and check out Medicaid. Then, there are payments for caretakers.

Hi...if you end up looking into medicaid, in the wealthier states there is a program called PACE. Through PACE a caregiver will come into your home for up to 12 hours a day, paid for by medicaid, this would give you relief, as well as allow you to get a job outside the home if needed. Take care of yourself, this is a tough road you are on.

Thank you, everyone. The mturk site gave me an error. I wrote to them to get it fixed. Still waiting. She does not qualify for SSI. I called them already. Also, no payments for married caretakers in my state.

As for having someone come into the house and take care of her, absolutely not. She gets scared when she can't see me. I'm not going to leave her with a stranger for any amount of time. Besides, her decline has been so rapid that I don't want to miss a moment with her.

I know you are not asking for advice on SSI so I did not say this before, but I know from personal experience that when a phone call to social security gets you nowhere, it's a good idea to call an attorney specializing in Social Security. The fees are affordable and it's absolutely a good idea to at least call an attorney who handles this all the time.
