topic Correcting Something In the Show Me Section in Ask a Question

On occasion, immediately after posting something in the Show Me section, I discover something that needs to be corrected. I try the edit option but it appears I am always too late. But I am almost never more than a nano second from having posted so it seems the edit either does not work or you must edit in the blink of an eye ! I think I recall that the ability to remove a post was taken away and I understand the reasoning for that. But this is not to remove but to correct something such as a misspelling --not to remove the post. Thanks anyone.

I find that the "life" of a possible edit will allow me time to move to the next forum topic and return, then edit -- I'd guess several minutes. I've sometimes been surprised that I was able to actually edit something after I have gone to another page, then back.

Thank you BKMUIR for sharing your experience. I have had this same problem before. I know the best solution would be to slow down and check everything before posting. But still it would be great to find out what I am doing or not doing that makes this happen.
