New here - COLLECTIONS question

Hi all - I am new at this. I am taking it slow and just having fun so far with my store. I have 3 collections so far. One is just a silly one (about farts lol), another is a wedding collection and the 3rd is valentines. I found a roadmap somewhere here about how far in advance to post collections and then WHEN to post for each occasion.

I actually do NOT wish to post the valentines one yet but i did not want to wait to make the collection. I notice there is a "lock" icon already on it. Is that because zazzle does not wish to have valentines day on the site yet?

Lock icon? I have no idea what you're referring to, but all three of your collections are visible to the public in your store. In general, you're always better off publishing things as far ahead as possible - the longer it's on the site, the better your chances are of being seen, so I wouldn't try to wait to publish anything.

If you have a "hidden" (maybe even a "direct only" product in the collection it will show the lock icon meaning it is private until all the products in the collection are public. Zazzle doesn't block any products from being on the website for holidays or seasons- that is all up to you.

Sometimes when you first make a collection, it can take a couple of days to be indexed, so it'll look like it's private until then.

I did notice it takes a minute for things to slide into a collection the way I want them to. By the next day it seems to all sort out!

Hello All

Can someone please explain why the Cross Sell collections ar not linked through to the collection proper?

I find it confusing when only some products appear ( and i have been on Zazzle 7years) so gather a buyer would get frustrated if they have to search too hard for a product.
