Some use of "same-sex marriage" in titles and tags has slipped by content management. I just searched for those terms with wedding invitations and found several that had the words "same-sex" in both the titles and the tags and they had a G rating. One was created back in 2017 and is still listed using those terms with a G rating.
I had the same experience as SusanG6 2 years ago when creating a collection of Gay wedding products. I used the term "same-sex wedding" since that is the way it is referred to in the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, but it did not pass the content management review. I appealed and still lost, even after referencing our 14th Amendment. The commonly accepted search term for gay weddings is same-sex weddings. That line of products I created has not sold very well...just a few sales here and there. I may go back and resubmit them with the same-sex marriage title and tags and accept the R rating, then promote the heck out of them and see if they sell better. It's worth a try.

? about LGBTQ tags

I created a fine‑dining style engagement invitation written for men, and I tried to add the tags "two grooms engagement invitation” and “same sex engagement invitation” so the customers could find it.

As soon as I added those phrases, my product was automatically flagged for adult content (popup), and I had to request a manual review. I was surprised because the invitation is completely G‑rated, elegant, and meant for a formal engagement dinner celebration.

Since the homepage promotes LGBTQ awareness, I honestly didn’t think these tags were a violation. They’re common search terms used by customers looking for same‑sex engagement or wedding items.

Can someone explain why adding these standard LGBTQ tags would trigger an adult‑content warning?

It's the use of the word 'sex' that is causing the adult content flag. Try using 'same gender' or simply 'gay' instead.

I designed this wedding invitation in 2017 and it has never had a problem. Navy Blue, Gold Wedding Invitations for Two Grooms | Zazzle. I used the tags, two grooms, gay couple and masculine. It sells so someone is finding it, I don't have a clue of the gender or preferences of the couple. I actually never designed another one targeted specifically to gay couples. I figured people could just find one of my designs and buy it. I didn't think it was necessary to single out any preference for any type of design. The last wedding invitation I received from a gay couple which was just a few months ago was a basic sunflower floral with no mention of preferences. I designed it my first year on Zazzle, so it is definitely not one of my better designs. (I know my profile says I joined in 2013, but I got sick for 3 years and didn't actually start designing until mid 2016.)

Thanks for this info, Col! I have been doing a little research behind the scenes and I think I understand now why my gay product line did not perform as well as it could have. It was a line of wedding reception products only.....there was no invitation, save the date, and all the other "before" the wedding items that I would typically design for a wedding. In this case, I was building a reception product collection off the success of another reception product design that had been a best seller for me. I am going to scratch my plan to use the same-sex term on Zazzle and get an R rating....I will design the full wedding suite and use acceptable title, description and tags for gay weddings on Zazzle to get the G rating. Pinterest is another story though, and I will test out using the keywords "same-sex wedding" there along with the other content acceptable terms on Zazzle. All on my to-do list...but I have a few other projects ahead of it, so this may be later down the road for me.
