You will need to type them individually. The Zazzle uploader doesn't support uploading spreadsheets, just image files.

Can I import a spreadsheet with names for individual name tags of the same design? Or do I have to type them individually.

It would be a great feature to offer though... not just for nametags, but for envelopes, place cards, and other items where you want a different name or address printed on each one.
