Do you need a special invite for designing embossers? No blanks found...

During the last sale, I saw for the first time Zazzle offering also embossers. I was oh wow cuz they would be an awesome addition to mailing stuff for the pet niche. So I tried to find a blank in any way possible but failed. There are several designs of several designers but no blanks in any way and in no personalize form there is a customize further.

Is designing embossers restricted to specific designers or do you need to request (and being approved) to join?

Anyone knows something? Thanks

Hello everyone,

I have been working on embossing pictures in my photoshop. Not an easy thing to do. Today, I also noticed for the first time that Zazzle offers embossers. It would be nice to have access to it too. Keep me posted. Many thanks.

Single-color (black/doesn't matter) vector shapes and text are your best bet for embossing and foil applications, not raster images. I suggest using graphic software like Illustrator or Corel Draw! for that, Photoshop is not the best choice. Just a tip.

Thank you very much for the advice. I do have illustrator. I'm not the best with it but I will certainly give it a try. Always nice to learn something new. As for Coral, I do have Coral painter not the same I know. So I think my best chance is Illustrator. Many thanks again.

Always glad to help. The reason why vectors are your best choice: embossing and foil applications are separate processes from printing. They can be done on blank and printed paper and also combined together. The special effect is applied to the area that is defined separately. This can be any shape and text. No shades are supported, no partial transparency and no other effects, just simple, plain shapes.

You can achieve this with transparent PNG but this will trigger the converting tool within the designer. Vector graphics saved and uploaded as PDF, AI or even SVG (used only as symbols in the designer) give you always sharp, clear contours at any size, no matter how you resize, rotate or transform them.

As an example, I once created a business card for a client with some content in braille. I chose the embossed business card option (wasn't on Z) and in addition to the normal design for printing including the braille text, I added a separate PDF consisting solely of the brail dots (it depends on the printer, how you have to deliver it). The result was a card with printed braille text that was also embossed. Works the same way with foil.

inkscape is also suitable for creating vectors...
