As idraw says, koozie/Koozie is off the table as a tag. The good news is that people can still find our products even when using tags we aren't allowed to use. I don't know how. I had one of my shark designs found by somebody searching on "jaws" which of course I would never use on a shark design. Nevertheless they found it as they found your can cooler. I don't know how that works, but thank goodness it does.

Good Morning,

When looking at insights on my best selling Can Coolers I see the word koozie is often searched. My question: is koozie a copywritten word? I get differing opinions on this issue. I see Koozie was purchased in 1980 but not koozie in lowercase.

Thank you,

Jan

@mydesignstudio

it doesn’t matter whether the word is capitalized or not,koozie and/or Koozie is trademarked. Why else would z choose to not use the word, instead using “can coolers”…
https://trademarks.justia.com/765/73/koozie-76573657.html
btw, there is a huge difference between copyright and trademark. Think of it this way…copyright is the right to copy an image. Proves ownership of the image. Trademark is the mark used by an entity to “mark” their trade item. You brand your cow, ouchies, and that becomes your mark of trade to identify ownership of your product, the cow, a moooving explanation, I hope.
