Please help! Text (like an initial) doesn't stay centered depending on letter

I'm going crazy and feel like there must be a setting I'm missing:

No matter how I try, I cannot figure out how I can ensure a customizable letter stays centered within the area it's supposed to be.

As an example, on a notecard, I have a circle in the middle of the card and I want to place a text box for the customer's initial letter there. I used the letter A as my sample and then tried a few other letters. The Y drops way down in the text box and touches the bottom of the circle; meanwhile, the W goes way out of the area and hits the top right of the circle. I used Morgana as the font.

Is there a way to fix this? Or do I just need to avoid certain fonts for this type of product?

I think you are going to need to pick a different font.... Morgana's capitals are rather irregular in size and some are made more like small letters, they dip below the "line". A lot of the very swoopy script fonts are like this, but maybe Liberty? it's swoopy too and stays in the box. Lucia script, SoulMate and Stillwonder look like they might work too.

Thank you for verifying. I thought this might be the case, but I was really hoping there was a “magical box” I could click that I just wasn’t processing. 😊

I appreciate the script font suggestions. I will definitely take a look at them.

The classic elegant script fonts are the same way. Even if some letters extend further up or down, they should still stay centered properly.

Unfortunately that's not the way it works - It's like all of the letters have a box around them defined by the upper limits of the tallest letter and the lower limits of the one that extends the furthest down. They aren't centered in that box, so centering the text box doesn't really work if there's a good deal of difference.. If you want the customer to never have to adjust anything you'll need to pick fonts that don't have a large variation..
Here's an example of Morgana - which has a big difference between its tallest and lowest letters, Lucia which is very consistent in size and placement and Liberty which has some but not extreme differences. Morgana will likely look strange for some letters. Lucia will likely work in all cases. Liberty will probably work as long as the border isn't too tight, mainly because even though it's not strictly in the middle, the difference is not as extreme and the weight of the letters is visually pretty well centered.

So there are a few script fonts that might cooperate? I will investigate further. Thank you. 😊
