Mock ups

I was trying to create a bedspread. I saw another Zazzle user had created a bedspread and it was shown on a bed. So, I looked for that option but couldn't find it. Long story short, I found out there was such a thing as a "mock up" . Who knew?!!! Well, I certainly didn't! However, I don't know anything about this new find and any information you could give me would be much appreciated. I've never used it before.

I've spent an awful lot of money on mockups over the past couple years, LOL! You can find some free ones, but I end up buying a lot on Etsy. I also get some from Creative Fabrica- I bought 2 years' subscription with their Black Friday deal last year. Placeit is recommended by Zazzle, but they have a limited amount of mockups that actually fit the products Zazzle sells. Freepik has mockups also, but most of the good ones you need a subscription for, and it's pretty expensive.

I second CreativeFabrica. They have many good mockups reasonably priced, also scene creators (a different sort of mockup). The mockups alone are worth the subscription price.

Thanks. It's a bummer, but I guess I'll just have to keep Gimping along doin' it on my own. I suppose I could pony up and pay for PhotoShop, but the thought of having to learn another design program after I've been using Gimp for 15 years seems rather daunting. Sigh.

There's an online free photoshop substitute called Photopea, which works great on Photoshop mockups. I've been using it for some of the newer mockups, because I have an older version of Photoshop that doesn't have a lot of the new Smart Object capabilities that the newest CC versions have. And you don't have to download any software or anything. One of the people I get mockups from on Etsy recommended it to me.

Oooo, thank you! I've used Photopea for converting raster images to svg, but I haven't really explored it beyond that. I'll check it out!

I dont buy mockups, I make my own or just use a free picture to add to, either an item alone, or change the shape to fit 🙂

I took some pics of my own things to use as mockups, or create,lets say on my dining table, a mockup with the items I want to use along side the items.

Canva has several mockups available for free within their SmartMockup app

Creative Fabrica has hundreds of mockups that don't require you to have Photoshop or that are in PSD format.
"Flat Lay" mockups are a top view and are great for cards, binders, trays, etc. If you use the search feature with "mockups jpg" you'll see more than 750 that you can use in Canva or another photo editing program.

Affinity Photo is a great alternative to Photoshop and relatively inexpensive. Every now and then they have a half-price offer too.

You can find FREE Mock-ups at Pixabay & Pexels. If you want a Christmas mockup for a card on a table with Christmas greenery, you search for "Christmas or holiday mockups." You can also find desktop mockups, frame mockups (for art or posters), some valentine mockup layouts. For flat things, like cards & posters, it's easy to snip you Zazzle card or poster picture, crop it with like Paint 3D & then use a program like Photopea to arrange it on the mockup to size for use in collections or cover-photos. Other Zazzlers have pointed out elsewhere that using mockups don't necessarily = more sales, but they can be a nice presentation as a cover photo if you don't find Zazzle's merch views suitable enough. Some suggested they just do mockup covers for products that sell well. Personally I mostly do mockups for my holiday cards & graduation cards for cover photos because it's a nice presentation. There is another paid service called Placeit you can use for a larger selection of mockups.
