That's right, you can tag products when you manually create the pin...You can use the url of the listings, though, it doesn't need to be from an existing pin. I did a bunch of these yesterday when I was scheduling February's pins. It doesn't always work, sometimes Pinterest is adjusting things and the link won't "take," but most of the time it works. It creates a "shop the look" section either at the top right of the page on Pinterest on desktop, or directly underneath the pin on the app, and if someone clicks on that it takes them to a pin that goes to the product. Once you add the tagged product you can't edit it later, so make sure to put the right product url in there.

One thing I'd suggest is that if you do this, you turn ON the "this is an affiliate link" thing when you add the link. Pinterest has said that if a link is an affiliate link they won't add any third-party affiliate codes to the pins, so it's one way to keep them from adding their own affiliate link. You can turn that on even if it's your own product, and it's not displayed anywhere on the pin as far as I can see, but it could keep them from including your product in any affiliate programs that Pinterest uses itself.

When linking from Pinterest they are only seeing 6 small items in my collection at zazzle. Has anyone found a workaround for that?

You could make your own 'carousel' pin which allows you to upload up to five still images from your collection or you could make a video of your collection and make your own pin with it. I've been making some really simple videos for my wedding collections that are basically just a slideshow. I'm sure some people could make some much fancier than mine but at least it enables me to show more products from the collection than the normal 'share' pin. Here's an example: https://ca.pinterest.com/pin/502432902200235597/

I am not an expert at Pinterest by any means, but I think that if you create the pin by hand rather than using Zazzle's automated pinning feature, you can tag products to the pin so that when someone opens the pin they'll see all of the products. To make it work you'd first need to create pins for each individual product within the collection (you could use Zazzle's pinning tool for those), then you'd probably need to create your own cover image for the collection, or use a video like @Baylee suggested, and use either your collection cover or video to create the manual pin for the collection. In the process of creating that pin you'd need to tag all of the pins for the individual products. I believe that on pins that you create by hand you have the option to edit things like description and tags (it doesn't look like you can do that on pins created using Zazzle's pinning tool) so you can add tagged products to the pin after the fact (like if you add more items to the collection.)

It's a fair amount of work, but I think that would accomplish what you're looking for (assuming I understand). Maybe someone who is more of an expert at Pinterest can weigh in.
