if I open a 2nd store under my account, will the earnings be merged, or will I have to wait for the 2nd store to gain enough earnings before I can receive any payment?

Yes they are merged. The earnings history has a column called “store” to differentiate to which store the sale belongs to. The Royalty History also shows the store the sale relates to under the product name.
It’s all merged, if one store makes 49$ and the other 1$, you get your 50$.
