5.5x7.5 & 6.5x8.75 cards - what are they used for?

All the other card sizes make sense to me (although 4x9 and 4x9.25 I wonder about a little, like why both?). But 5.5x7.5, and 6.5x8.75 I have no clue about. Sometimes I make them, sometimes I don’t. No one’s ever bought one. Thinking I might need to target a specific audience, for an event or usage I’m not aware of.

I missed the rollout of the new card offerings whenever that happened some years back, so if someone can direct me to a link explaining it all I’d appreciate it. I have sooooo many questions about some of that. I appreciate that it took someone a lot of work to come up with all the different types and sizes, etc., but can’t quite understand why one size flat card, for example, needs be a holiday card, flat card, flat greeting card, announcement card, etc. Why some are downloadable, some aren’t. I’ve been diligently working on redoing all my cards to make them be the right ‘type’, and am pooped out. That card page with all the sizes and types is like a Byzantine maze IMO. Again, I appreciate all the thought that went into it, I really do. Just sayin’.  TIA

  • Photo cards:  You could use either of these sizes to create photo cards to share with friends and family.
  • Rack cards:  These are small cards that are displayed in racks in stores or other businesses. The 5.5x7.5 inch size could be used for rack cards.
  • Event Programs
  • Small Signs
  • Certificates
  • Games for events
  • Menu for Business or event
  • Large greeting Cards

Thanks Leah. I’ve been doing a lot of blank cards, saying, “Send a greeting, or create an invitation with this (title and size) blank card.” You’ve given me some good ideas.
