I had this problem in the old forum, but figured if I can’t remember if I already posted x it was probably long enough ago that it doesn’t matter if I post it again. But with that in mind, with the new forum and it’s handy tagging features, I planned for this & set myself up to be able to quickly find my own posts in the Show Me:
- I decided on a tag custom to me that no-one else would ever be likely to use that I would use only on my posts in the Show Me. I went with “ccshowme”. Any/every time I post something in a Show Me thread, I include that tag in my post.
- I used the forum’s bookmark feature to Bookmark one of my Show Me posts. It doesn’t matter which one.
- Now anytime I want to see everything I’ve posted to the Show Me, I open that bookmarked post and click on the “ccshowme” tag in it.
- clicking on my “ccshowme” tag from inside a post takes me to a list of all my posts in the Show Me where I have used that tag (which is all of them).
Now I can see every post I’ve made in the Show Me, in what thread, in chronological order most recent first.
When I click on something from the above list, it takes me straight to MY post in that thread. This is the key here. Clicking from this list takes you to YOUR post you used the tag in. If I instead just search the Show Me for “ccshowme” and then click on something from the results, it just takes me to the thread-starter post which is not helpful.
You can expand on this method by devising multiple custom tags such as say “ccshowmeMugs” or “ccshowmeTiedye” or etc… You get the idea. I don’t post a whole lot there so one custom tag that covers everything I’ve posted to the Show Me is fine for me but if you post there a lot you may want to plan more tags to narrow down your list to specific designs and/or product types.
(And once you have a tag plan, you can go back in your post history and appropriately tag posts you’ve already made so that you can easily find them later.)
