Another Lost Referral - Why?

Sold special order made from request through Zazzle message to creator. Hate asking the buyer but Even after asking them  to please clear cache before hitting link to purchase I made the minimum on the sale. I could have increased the price but figured it would be enough with the Share your Product and earn 35-50% on a Referred Sale. Self-Promotion Links are created when you share. I have all the messages sent in order to make the item including my asking them to clear cache which is one of the things I believe needs to be fixed. Can’t you automatically make links for items asked for go to the creator. You could have an area for the buyer to check something saying they actually did get the help.  This is the sale I made three dollars and a few cents on.

That means they already picked up someone else’s cookie on their entry to Zazzle before contacting you via chat. Referrals are awarded for bringing a customer in (and yes that is very hit or miss), not for doing custom requests after someone finds you.

I looked at your product linked above, and under it in the “other designs you might like” scroll were identical cufflinks to yours so I looked at them. Turns out they’re yours, too, created back in 2021. The only difference is the monogram and both are template fields so my real question is - why couldn’t the customer figure out how to change the initials on their own? 🤔

No intention to be rude or bothersome. This has already been explained many times. Clearing cookies, cache, or anything else doesn’t work… No one here, and there are some very knowledgeable people, has found any way to change it: sales are always credited to third parties.
I think in these cases there are few options: raise the royalty, increase the price directly with a standard royalty, or charge for your “help” through another channel if Z’s rules allow it. Or reject the customer. Anything else ends in disappointment

To be clear, you will never earn a referral for a customer buying something from a link you sent them in Zazzle Chat. It has always been this way.

I have recently (post-Ambassador Program) successfully sent text message links for custom work (which I only do for my family) and received referrals. However, their requests for custom work are initiated via a phone call or a text message. They do not make their requests inside the Zazzle platform. And I don’t ever communicate to them via a Zazzle chat. Actually, I only use Zazzle chat to chat with my Zazzle designer “buds.”

I do not ask them to clear their cookies first. (They wouldn’t know how to do that, and neither would most customers).

So either they haven’t visited Zazzle within 45 days, or this method works on occasion.

Its worth giving it a try with customer requests from family and friends, to see if this method works for you.

Yes I changed that because the ability to make monogram that fits does not work. Thanks for the input. I am going to delete the ones I remade. That was the extent of the designing the customer was not able to fit the monogram.  I didn’t know that clearing the cache did not change the fact that items don’t get credited. It bothered me to have to tell them to do this and then it didn’t work.
