Best/Appropriate use of the Show Me board?

I have seen topics added to the show me board of the forum that are like the threads on the old forum, where people reply with certain product or design types, recently sold, created, etc. I have also seen some topics showing individual creator’s specific product(s) with no request for replies.

I’m questioning if the second is considered appropriate or best use of the Show Me board? If everyone starts posting their own individual products as a topic I could see the board getting quite crowded and hard to navigate. It’s already pretty crowded as it is.

Question for the moderators: Which is the intended use or doesn’t it matter?

Hi @buxmontweb ,

It’s generally intended to house threads where Creators reply to specific criteria requested by the poster, i.e “Show me your Halloween designs!”.

As you mentioned, threads advertising one specific Creators design may just clog up said section.

Is there a rule about double posting in the show me forum? I often will go to one thread, and see a post with six products, maybe in the mugs thread. Then I will browse the “show me something red” and I will see the exact same six products posted–six red mugs. Same day. I might see the same exact six products posted in a “show me something you just created”. Six red mugs created that day.  I am not sure why people think this will benefit them, and I am not sure if the double posting bothers other people. Maybe it’s just me.

The thing about the Show Me forum is that you don’t know if the creator of the thread is promoting from it, or just thought that people would post to a certain type of thread.  There used to be the alphabet game thread in the old forum… did anyone actually promote from it or was it a fun way for people to share in a game like fashion?  Probably the latter…  A something red post… is someone out there running a “red” themed website and promoting from it…  IDK, maybe.  So unless all the threads one posts to are created by the same person, posting the same items in multiple threads may make sense to some…  I have a hard time understanding the Show Me forum… personally.  To me it seems it is just a place to “Show” your stuff.  There is no defined end benefit from posting there.  I am glad the “Affiliate request” forum was brought back.  In that forum you know that the poster is actively looking for products to share and they provide where they are sharing so you can go see if your stuff is being promoted.  If it is, you may design more stuff just to post in that thread…  That makes sense to me…

@Windy  Just my two cents,
