Categories Still Won't Delete

I have been having this problem for months. In October Support put it as an Order rather than a Case.

I haven’t received any updates about it, which makes it frustrating.

I’ve gone through and made a list of the Categories that still won’t delete.

I was pleasantly surprised today when a large number that wouldn’t delete before actually deleted today!

A few of them were because I hadn’t deleted the Category Thumbnail.

Below are the categories that just won’t delete. They are empty or have subcategories that are empty but they won’t delete either.

Sorry to hear you are having this issue. It looks like the links above have now been deleted. Are there any more that won’t delete?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for looking into this so quickly.

If only it were true that they’ve been deleted. I clicked on several of the links just now and these categories are not deleted.

Empty, without thumbnails, but still not able to delete these ones. Still with the error message:

“There was an error deleting your category. Please make sure your category is empty and try again.”

The ones I mentioned yesterday as having been able to delete are not included in this list. I am unable to delete any category on this list.

Will you please give me an update?

If one clicks on the links above it opens up a page that says "

Whoops! Something went wrong. 404"

However, when I go to any of these Categories on my Management side they are still there and I still can’t delete them.

Trying to delete them brings up the error message:

“There was an error deleting your category. Please make sure your category is empty and try again.”

These categories do not have a thumbnail, nor any products, nor any sub-categories.

These categories are still not deleting. Hiding them from the public doesn’t make my managing tasks any easier.     Maybe this layout will assist you with seeing the issues.

I’m having this issue too … did some housekeeping in the backend, and after two days, these two empty (sub)categories still can’t be deleted – when I try, I get the message/flag  “There was an error deleting your category. Please make sure your category is empty and try again.”
