Recently the resizing of text fields was changed so if you drag the field to change the amount of space available for a customer to enter their info, it now increases/decreases the font size as well. The only way to keep the font size is to hold <shift> at the same time.
Please change this back so we can resize the text fields more easily, without holding the <shift> key.
I’m hoping I’ll eventually be able to re-train my brain to hold down the shift key, but in the meantime, there’s a lot of cursing and un-doing going on over here!
I find it convenient to work on an iPad, and it is not possible to “hold down the shift key” while resizing a box, therefore I would prefer it if the text size didn’t automatically change.
Or at least have a setting so that designers can disable this functionality (similar to the Lock Aspect Ratio) for images (although I can’t seem to get that to work. it is locked when checked and when unchecked).
Thank you for your comment and feedback here, Creators. we’re looking at fixing the text box resizing to revert back to it’s previous behavior. We have also taken note of the iPad issues and can hopefully work something out for this use case, too!
There were various threads on this “same topic” over a month ago. We wrote about this same issue and the problems that the last update caused, and we were told then that it was going to be looked into.
And I wrote that I can no longer resize the text boxes, or element shapes via my Samsung Tablet which I use their S-Pen on (and that you’d need to now have a “magnetic keyboard” that you would need to attach to the tablet in order to “hold down the Shift key” to now do either of these functions after the last update. And not everyone has a “separate keyboard for their tablets” whether Samsung or Apple) – and that since this last update I can no longer do the resizing of text boxes, or resizing or changing of element shapes via my Samsung Smartphone with my S-Pen either anymore. I’ve had many different Samsung Smartphones over the years that all utilized the S-Pens, including my current one, and on them is where I’ve done majority of my artwork and majority of my Zazzle store stuff, and can take on-the-go to do most anything.
NOTE: The only exception to this ever, was the “other problem” via any of my Samsung Smartphones with my S-Pen - I’ve never been able to “select template layer fields to group together” within the design tool by “pressing and highlighting each field” in order to hold the layers down to “group” all of them together with my “S-Pen” (but always wished would be able to do this via Zazzle’s design tool). It’s the same for those iPad users too, from what I’ve read. Because of that “grouping layers limitations with the S-Pen” via my Samsung Smartphones all along I’ve had to leave something ungrouped and publish it; or save it and when I could get on my tablet (and attach keyboard) then pull it up again in order to group items and place on a design in a particular way and then publish it. If we were able to select and highlight different template layer fields and group them within the design tool with just our S Pens, and not need a keyboard for this function either, that would also be great.
Please bring back the “old way” before the last update so we can again use our S-Pen to resize the text templates and resize and change element shapes within Zazzle’s design tool! There was nothing wrong with the old way, and it was a simpler smoother process for years doing it this way, whether on tablets or smartphones that utilize S-Pens (stylus pens) for drawing and writing on the screens. Why did they change it and now cause these types of problems when it worked fine for years on these devices, I don’t understand.
I am myself desperately waiting for a fix on iPad since weeks. Here’s a little workaround I found: add your shape in the editor. Then, add a picture in the editor and crop it with the cropping tool on the right.
Remove the picture. Then resize your shape, it unlocks the proportional resizing and you can then resize only on one dimension.
