I am getting a collection needs attention error when trying to make a cross-sell/event suite for Thanksgiving. It says I need adult t-shirts even though there are 2 adult tees in the collection. I was forced to change it to a “gift theme” so I could get the collection active. Can this glitch be fixed?
Hmmm… it’s interesting that t-shirts would be a required product for a Thanksgiving collection - that wouldn’t even register on my list of things to create for that particular holiday! But whatever.
It sounds like the problem is that you don’t have your t-shirts listed in the correct Marketplace Department. Go to the collection backend and then choose adult t-shirt under the recommended products section
That will pull up the screen where you can add t-shirts to your collection, and on that screen it tells you which department it wants your products to be in so they show up correctly in the collection:
In this case it appears that the shirts have to be listed under women’s fashion - which makes even less sense to me - I guess women’s t-shirts are a required element of Thanksgiving, but men’s t-shirts don’t even make it on the list. Who knows… I guess they had to choose one or the other.
Anyhow, I agree that this needs attention, but that should allow you to get the collection active at least as a workaround. Hope that helps!
I just tried to make a cross-sell Thanksgiving collection and it relegated my products that make perfect sense for Thanksgiving - like invitations and serving tray - to “bonus” products, but requires a t-shirt?
I don’t get this t-shirt thing. Are there really people buying Thanksgiving t-shirts?
If someone wants to add a t-shirt, by all means…but I don’t get why it would be required - as the first product listed at that, while the very obvious invitations is made merely a “bonus”.
T-shirts just don’t fit in the context of my collection so I will change the type from cross sell to something else.
My thoughts exactly! T-shirts would be like the last thing I would think of for that particular holiday. I’m now wondering if there’s a big market for Thanksgiving t-shirts and we’re just all oblivious! The only thing I can think of is like a big family gathering where they get custom shirts printed for the occasion and all wear them for the group photo? I dunno.
I just changed my theme from “Holiday-Thanksgiving” to “Holiday Season” and the T-shirt requirement goes away. I’m not sure if not having “Thanksgiving” is the best way to go (?). I have “Thanksgiving” in the name of the collection. Guess I’ll see. I hope they will change this requirement.
