Was chatting with another Creator and it came up that I can’t see the products in one of their Collections (420). No preview images on the main collections page, and clicking the collection gives me the 'sorry, there are no results" message.
I was also unable to find any of the 420 products searching their store.
It then came up that the products in that Collection are all rated R and that’s why I can’t see them. BUT, my Content Filter is set to OFF and has been for years.
which again shows me my filter is already OFF and I should be seeing R products.
I have no way of knowing if this is a ‘just-me’ problem or a global issue that’s blocking visibility for any R rated product despite the user’s setting.
PLEASE NOTE: the Creator of these products / this Collection is aware of all this and has given me permission to use links to their content as example here.
Thanks so much Col for posting this. I’m a bit bummed because I had put some effort into this collection creating additional product pictures and videos for it as well. And on top of it the city San Francisco has canceled the 420 festival too (due to not having enough police personnel). Sigh.
I’ve just tried your links and the first two were OK, but the last one had a problem. However, when I checked my ‘content filter’ it was set to moderate! I’ve changed that and now it’s OK too.
Same results as you, @ColsCreations . My content filter is set to off, but it still wouldn’t allow me to see the product and I got the same pop up when I tried to change it. No luck. Definitely a problem!
Edit to add - I’m on Windows PC using Chrome browser - in case that matters.
I have noticed the same thing happens with some of my products when I tweet or pin them the product then shows that I need to change my filter settings when I click to make sure the link goes to the correct place but I already have my filter off. I am thinking this is why my PG-13 and R-rated products no longer see any sales because the customers are not allowed to see them anymore even if they change their filter settings.
Still getting the exact same results as posted above. My first thought was that yes, the products and/or Collection are probably new so maybe an indexing issue, BUT, why then not just a “products not found” message? That it’s specifically coughing up prompts to change my content filter to allow R rated viewing doesn’t make sense. Also, with new products, even if not indexed in the MP yet, direct-links to them still work for promoting so I ought to be able to view the individual product from its direct link even if really new but I can’t - it tells me I can’t view it because my content filter isn’t set to allow R items.
Could someone provide a direct link to an R-rated product so that I and @tiffjamaica can test if we can view it? That would at least pinpoint if the issue is specific to @MOM and/or R-rated products in general.
If you’re seeing a page mentioning Rated R content then scroll to the bottom of the page and update your Content Filter settings. I think that may have been the cause of your issues here.
New products can always be accessed via direct links. Search results pages and collections pages, when viewed publicly, sometimes require indexing.
When I log into your account things are working just fine - I can view the links above just fine.
If I adjust the content filter to Moderate, and then load the collection above, I see one product. If I change the filter settings to Safe then I see a "no results’ message on the collection page. I believe this is the expected behavior.
I’d been using only my regular every-day browser (Firefox on a Win 10 computer). I just now tried using both Opera and Chrome instead and huh, as long as I am signed in to my account (where my filter is Off) I can view the Collection and product links with no issues on either of those browsers. It’s only in Firefox where I am being told I need to change my Content Filter setting even though it’s already Off. So this must be a cookie thing on my end? Except @tiffjamaica and @Cassie said they have the same problem. Maybe we all have cookie issues?
I’m on Chrome. I went to a “Guest” browser to test. When the “change your content” pop up box appeared, it was set to “safe” (not logged in) and I was able to change it to “off” and the product appeared just fine.
Under my Chrome profile though, it will not work. So it must be a cookie or an extension problem. I only have one extension running and it’s my antivirus program.
Hope that info helps a bit. Tech is not my strong suit!
Here is one that shows the PG-13 message even though my content filter is off https://www.zazzle.com/cannabis_postcard-256459280949304260 when I just checked going to it from a Pinterest pin https://pin.it/3npx1M17k or a twitter tweet https://twitter.com/angelandspot/status/1778082038987346192 I used the direct link for the 35% referral should anyone looking on twitter or pinterest actually be able to see and purchase but I don’t think they can with that message and even if you turn the filter off which is already off by default and refresh the page it still shows the message
My Content Filter is def already OFF.
Since this is only happening with me in Firefox I’m going to go dig around its settings and try deleting any Zazzle cookies I find.
OK. Found where in Firefox to delete all Zazzle cookies (and only Zazzle cookies) and that solved the issue for me. Everything linked in this thread now is visible to me, with no prompts to change my Content Filter setting.
So that’s great but people with items above G might still run into viewers not being able to see them because of this cookie issue that seems to be forgetting what your filter is set at.
This is still an issue. In trying to view these products & collection today (using Firefox) , I can’t again. Stuck in the same loop of being told to change my Content Filter which is already off. If I log-in using Opera or Chrome, no problems, they recognize that my Content Filter is off and thus I am not blocked from viewing the products.
Firefox shows I have 86 Zazzle cookies but I can’t find a way to view what those 86 are.
I haven’t been able to find where in Opera or Chrome to look at stored cookies.
Perhaps whatever cookie is supposed to remember this setting is not “sticky” enough? I don’t think it’s just a Firefox issue as @tiffjamaica said she’s having the same problem using Chrome.
Found the issue. If you have your content filter set to OFF and the items don’t show up, set first the content filter either to ON or Moderate, close, then open again and change back to OFF. The content will now show up.
Most certainly a coding flaw that doesn’t interpret the settings correctly if they were already set to Off before some changes were probably made.
I’m getting the same problem on Chrome, so not browser-related. I guess the system doesn’t interpret the filter settings correctly if it was already set to off before some changes must have been made. If you change the filter settings and then set them back to Off, it will work, and apparently, it keeps its status.
Edit:
One more test: On Edge, if I’m logged off and set the content to Off (from Safe) it works but when I close the window, then reopen and head back to Zazzle (logged off) and retry, the setting is again back to safe where it was before. So it doesn’t get saved into a cookie in this case. On Chrome, where I’m logged in, it still works after I close the window and reopen.
Keep telling people the same solution I’ve tried a dozen times on my Rated R products. I am convinced people at zazzle are shadow banning Rated R products. I have classy vintage artwork with female nudity censored, I mean not showing up in store or marketplace. It’s like Zazzle does not know how to make money.
I searched for a hookah clock of which I have a couple, and only 7 clocks showed up (probably set to PG), none of them mine. When I switched my filter to moderate, then back to off as has been suggested, my clocks showed up.
