I can copy and paste in other applications and the pasteboard works fine, but it doesn’t work in the design tool. This is really slowing me down. Am I the only one?

Sometimes you have to refresh the page a few times before it will work. I’ve been running into this a lot.

Same. Although to be fair, I was running into it quite a bit in the old tool too. I have to either refresh, or type in something random for text, paste, and then delete the random text.
Copy and paste is currently unreliable. To copy elements from one design, I had to refresh the original design four times, and then refresh the new design three additional times before the ‘paste’ option appeared. This workflow is not sustainable.
The previous ‘Edit’ menu was significantly more reliable. Combined with the ongoing difficulty of unlocking layers on older products, this is making it increasingly difficult to work efficiently.
