Is this just for certain types of cross sell collections? I was able to do it for birthday party, bridal shower and baby shower collections. But I couldn’t do it for my Mardis Gras party collection since I had to call it Holiday Seasonal and I couldn’t do it for my backyard BBQ party collection which I had to call Home/Living despite both those collections being all matching with a cover photo including the invitation and matching party supplies.

I don’t want to participate, because I find it clutters up the search results and is very confusing. This is why we were told to only have one product showing in the product cover photos when they were first introduced! I think it’s enough to have that little “View Collection” tab at the top of the image. And besides, after we went through all the trouble of adding cover photos to the PRODUCTS, now those cover photos are obsolete and useless?

Yes, You are right. I also agree with you.

I guess I don’t get it.

First, I don’t know how to search for collections in the MP.

When I select enable marketplace I don’t see search pages

I also don’t see a place to select the three products I featured in the cover photo.

Here is the collection I was trying to use.

Here’s two more collections that I don’t see how to do it?

Seems like a convoluted way for customers to search for items. I don’t think that this is a necessary change. If a customer wants to see an invitation then they must click through other items to view it up close. The invitation is not the first thing that they see (based on watching the video). The previous way to “view more in this collection” works fine.

Thanks for the explanation!

Luckily I went through this process when creating the collections last year. Hopefully this will result in more views for my collections, since a lot show 0 views in the past 30 days.

@ElizabethR  this only seems to work if your collection is set as a wedding and cross-sell type and your collections are Leap Year proposal and Easter - that could be why it doesn’t work?

edited to add just read @KeegansCreation  comment and can confirm baby shower/gender reveal types work

to get to your cover images to select (if your collection is enabled for this feature( you need to press the Zazzle Marketplace tab in edit the collection

then scroll down and select the products that are in your collection cover image

then press save

Only select the ones that are in the collection cover image and no more

Hope that helps

@KeegansCreation  also found it doesn’t work for Father’s Day so it seems only certain types have been switch on for testing I suppose (really wish they would sort of the 4th July cross sell - not been able to finish those off as they don’t have a event set yet)

I am just not getting the search page section you are showing. Thank you. I guess it’s just weddings. I just looked at the announcement again and I now see the list of included categories. It was probably there but I must have skipped over it.

Back to writing.

@ElizabethR  it only appears if the type of collection is cross sell and the event is wedding/baby shower/birthday

and you find it (if your collection is the type that it is enabled on) by going into your collection (edit collection) and press the Zazzle Marketplace green button (top right) -

if it’s the right sort of collection - this is where you would see all your promos to select

Not all collections will have this option - as zazzle hasn’t switched it on for all of them at this time

I spent a lot of time creating collections and adding keywords to them. Nothing sold.

I think the SEO is not intended to work with the collections or something is broken.

Until I figure it out I’m not spending more time creating collections.

Agreed. I think it is important to simplify things and make it very clear for customers to understand and so far, this feature does not seem to do that, but actually seems to add steps and create confusion.

When I’m browsing the marketplace these days, and I see a whole collection of products shown as the cover image for a single product, it’s confusing because I have to then guess which product in that photo the listing is actually for. I would imagine that it would be frustrating for customers who are just trying to find what they are looking for efficiently.

I’m not too keen on utilizing this feature, as of yet, but that may change. The rest of the upgrades to the collections have been great, and I’ve noticed increased visibility on complimentary products within collections as a result.

Thank you, I do have Halloween and Thanksgiving collections, but the selling season is eight months away. So, I’m going back to my writing.

Okay, I had a Halloween party ware collection from last year.  I had to refine the MP department but now I have a collection that complies with the test requirements. The only problem is that I featured five sets of plates, napkins, and cups for a total of 15 products. It will only let me select 11.

@ElizabethR

I would make the collection cover less busy and a close up of the products so that when a customer is scrolling through the marketplace they can see the design a bit more clearly and maybe feature just one design on three products or maybe just the invitations? Or maybe break out the collection per design style? (ie just jack o lanterns - just ghosts etc)

You don’t have to show everything in your collection cover just a teaser to entice the customer to click through for more

I’m finding it difficult to see the products on the brick wall

Then with less products in your collection cover - you’ll only have to click the products for the test (3 is less than 11)
