Hi there, a customer wants me to make the single guest cards and put it to the cart for them and I should send a link, where they can login, click and buy the cart. What link do I have to put in, to get a self referral and royalty? Thanks for your help. Regards Holmer
If the customer contacted you through Zazzle, there’s no way to get a self-referral. The referral tracks how they got to the site initially, and it cannot be overwritten for 14 days, so if they’re already on the site, that code is already set and there is no link you can send that will overwrite it. If they contacted you outside of Zazzle, send them a clean link. Your chances of getting the referral are still slim, but it’s possible.
Hmmm, exactly what I liked to hear. Thanks for your answer.
You cannot put products in the customer’s cart. They are the only ones who can add something to their cart. We do not have access to a customer’s accounts. You create the design, post it for sale in your store, then send the customer the link to the product.
Well I tried it yesterday and it worked. I put evetything in a cart and sent the cart to another email. The other person just login and pay
I put it in my cart and sent it to another email.
They logged into your account, or their account?
I’d put them in a collection and send them the link to the collection, I wouldn’t send them a link to cart. But they probably already have cookies as they’ve been on Zazzle to contact you. So unless they originally found you through one of your links…
When you say you put it in a cart - whose cart? Your shopping cart that you are logged into on your zazzle account, or did they give you their login credentials and you logged into their account and put it in their shopping cart?
Whenever I create a custom design that a customer has requested, I create the design on the product they want, publish it for sale, and send them a link to the published product in my store using chat or occasionally through an email. There is no cart involved.
This was a curious situation so I just tried it. There is a “Share this cart” button at bottom of your cart. I added two of my published products to it, one personalized. Then used the Share this Cart button and entered my own email. Opened the links from the email in another browser, anonymously. They opened to https://www.zazzle.com/co/cart with the items, including the customization, right there ready to buy. Signed in using another Zazzle account (one I created a long time ago but never used) and there we go, could easily have ordered the customized products. Even after removing the items from my own cart, the link still works for opening a cart with the items in it, the user just has to sign-in to order.
The actual links as copied from the email started with ablink.tn.send.zazzle.com/ss/c/ and then were just a long string of characters, to the tune of 615 total characters!
But they convert in the address bar to just https://www.zazzle.com/co/cart
Assuming the person doesn’t already have an active cookie, would the designer get a Self-Promotion referral when sharing this way? Hopefully a Mod can answer this as it seems like a very convenient way one could put a collection of customized items such as a full wedding suite, into a cart ready for the customer to buy.
Wow. I had no idea you could “share a cart” and I don’t know if that would qualify for a referral or not. It would be great if someone from Zazzle could chime in and clarify. Of course, the kicker still remains the if the customer doesn’t already have another active cookie part, but I suppose that’s a separate issue.
Adding a screenshot of what the email they receive looks like.
You can customize the message line and your name (defaults to store name) to whatever you want.
They can click the big View Shared Cart button or the individual products and it opens to the cart, with the items as you customized them, ready to buy.
So there is no issue with a customer potentially using our Zazzle funds to make their purchase? That would be my concern.
Wow. Who knew?
Very interesting! Thanks for taking the time to test that out and share the results with us! Much appreciated.
How? They don’t have access to your account. You are just sharing a cart that you put together.
I look at this as about the same as other places that have a “wish list” you can put together and share with someone. I’ve seen other places that you can share a cart like this but had never paid attention that the option is available here. As to being able to get a referral from something like this? I’d almost bet opening that email link, since it’s an email that comes through Z, is going to embed their cookie so once again, zaps any referral you’d receive.
I customize and put it in my cart, then there is a share button, where you put the customers link, the customer opens it and has to login with their own account and then they buy
Yes the long link is a little bit confusing but it works. With the selfreferral is there a trick? Because we know what a customer wants to buy and personalize it and put it in our cart, so why dont we come from pinterest to zazzle, personalize the items and sent the cart to the customer. Does it overwrite the cookie, because I dont use the link of the customers…
Maybe it works, maybe not, the self referrals are strange. Here is a suggestion how it might works. You know what the customer wants, then you go to pinterest, search for this item, click and customize at zazzle, the new tracking is set, then sent the cart to the customer, they login and buy. So the cookie overwrites the other, because it is a new link. ???
I know this method too, do you get a selfreferral with this ?
