First, THANK YOU. I have no ide when this became available, as I just stumbled onto it this morning. For all of us that have been asking for this forever, thank you, thank you, thank you
I deleted several, but one says I still have products in the store (I do not) and it won’t let me delete that one.
@Cian
Just checked my empty stores, no way that I can see to delete them. Is the ability to delete empty stores being rolled out slowly? I closed these stores maybe 4 years ago or more.
Is there some path I am missing? I have about 13-15 empty stores. I will not post my links here, but can message Cian or Scott privately with the info if needed.
Just searched again, my empty stores are private and locked, none have banners, products, collections. But the first one I experimented with, I unlocked it, it says I have products. So I went to products, selected all in dropdown, says none. None visible, none public,none hidden, none direct only. Just none…I think the delete stores function is exhibiting attitude or just having a bad day.
I have a few stores I deleted products from that gave me the “but you have products” message, but I figure it will take some time for it to adjust to the newly deleted cuz my other stores that already had no products deleted fine and a couple with just a few products I was able to delete. I’m just gonna try back later.
If you click on Stores in your member profile - you should see a little trash bin to the right of your store name.
Only if your store is completely empty, will you be able to delete.
If there has been products there which have been discontinued and since hidden by Zazzle, you won’t be able to delete the whole store. Or at least that’s what I’m finding.
@CrazyMermaid
This is what I figured out by trial and error, Go to your stores list, there is a dropdown, private and/or hidden stores, click on a store (make sure it is unlocked), there will be a trash can to the right. Click on it, and if if works for you, your store will delete, for some of us, just before a US holiday weekend (of course) we will be on hold till next Mon or Tues. probably.
Anyhow, if your store is private and/locked, unlock it, make it public, then delete it, but for me it still didn’t allow me to delete any of my stores. Had to find this on my own, no explanation forthcoming from Z, lots of time spent trying to figure out why, and still no solution for me, altho others have had success. I even waited awhile, then tried again, just to give the servers time to index it, but nope.
There is a glitch that only Z can work out.
BTW, my “empty” stores are completely empty, no hiddens,no discontinued, no directs, nothing.
I successfully deleted private empty stores @idraw no need to make public if you don’t want to. Though like you, still have stores that say they have products when they don’t. 🤔
What I meant by make public— mine are locked, so I tried unlocking several to see if it made any difference when clicking the trash can , still got the can’t delete message. The good news is that our public shops are, so far, not affected.
This is a glitch that z has been made very aware of, z’s techs just had their weekend planned out for them. 😐
@idraw mine were locked too and I still deleted them. They just won’t delete if the system thinks there’s products already in them even though they show as empty. Definitely a glitch I think from discontinued items that were bulk deleted behind the scenes by zazzle. Sending cookies for the tech team 🍪
@Cian
IMPORTANT! i noticed when looking at my private stores that they all have ranks.
So, as and after we are trying to delete our private shops, will that affect our rank for our public shops?
Could this possibly cause our public shops to drop in rank, and get further lost in the marketplace?
I went looking for the two stores I emptied ages ago and they weren’t showing anywhere. Is it possible Zazzle is deleting such stragglers without our having to lift a finger?
