Designing a Sock

Not to give my brilliant idea away, but I was wondering if I wanted a message on the sock at the toe –  that could be read when the sock was on the foot and you looked straight down – could I achieve that by putting 1/2 of it on the right and 1/2 on the left?   How much spacing do you think would be required from the center – just a normal space if you were typing a sentence of thought? It would be lovely to have a view that would show this and it could open up a whole bunch of new ideas.

If I remember correctly, the seam for the finished sock is in front and in back, not side to side.  So even if you lined everything up perfectly in the design tool, there are bound to be errors when the sides are sewn together.  I do like the idea, but would be concerned with the production process leading to an undesired result.

With that being said… give it a try.  I would make a pair, order it, then hide the product until it comes in.  If it works, then unhide and design more.

Just my thoughts…
