I’ve been working on some designs using the Oswald typeface. Yesterday I noticed the ‘Oswald’ typeface had increased in size/weight, so no longer fit the space. I checked the designs I’d already listed and it was the same problem. It looks OK until I click the ‘Personalize this template’, then it instantly becomes bigger pushing words onto a new line. This only just started yesterday 1st June, but it’s intermittent. It was OK when I checked later (and thought it was sorted), but the problem has returned. It’s just ‘Oswald’ not the ‘Oswald Light’ or ‘Oswald Bold’.
It happens in Firefox + Microsoft Edge but not Google Chrome.
looked at your link as per the instructions above in Microsoft Edge, and unfortunately, no, I don’t see any change in the size for the font Oswald. so hopefully that means it may be fixed.
I can see this happening in Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi browsers. I’m not seeing it happen in Firefox, Chrome or Opera. But as you said, it doesn’t happen every time so that doesn’t necessarily mean those browsers aren’t affected.
If you continue into the Design Tool you can see the text size is still set to 9.2, it just seems to be displaying larger for some reason.
Thank you so much, I was starting to think it was just me! It’s so odd, one minute it’s OK then it’s not. It’s happening to all my designs with that particular ‘Oswald’ typeface.
Yes, it’s not so obvious when it’s just used for a single customized name (if it still fits the space), but anything longer is a problem. In the end, I changed the typeface on some recent designs. I didn’t want a customer to see the problem in the template, or for the bug to happen at the print stage!
Just a reminder that this is still an issue. When clicking personalize the text becomes bigger and, for example in this case, sometimes even starts on a new line. Not sure what eventually gets printed.
You can try it out or see a recording of this bug in action in this thread.
