Thank you to everyone who’s shared feedback on the updated Post for Sale experience. We hear you, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
We’re moving forward with the updated flow, and all Creators are now opted into the new experience. This is part of our broader investment in long-term marketplace growth for the entire Community.
That said, development doesn’t stop here. We’ve documented the key themes and specific feedback you’ve shared and passed them along to the right teams. Updates and refinements will keep rolling out over time, and some changes have been made and more to come this week. If you haven’t already, please[submit feedback through the form] so your input is formally captured alongside other Community perspectives.
If you would like to discuss with fellow Creators, please use this dedicated thread to help us keep track of conversations/feedback on this topic.
Thanks for being part of this Community - your engagement makes a real difference.
Heather it would be great to know what is at least for sure in the works so we don’t keep reporting the same issues. Like the main color selection dropdown, I’m assuming that will be fixed soon, since it covers 75% of the design and makes it basically impossible to design, but we don’t have a way to know.
Additional things I’ve noticed/experienced since the last discussion chain. (All of my original observations I submitted in the form still apply.)
The letter spacing is now at .02 increments, so I can’t even do 0.05. Can’t even type it in. So I can only do .04 or .06 - it is very important for the 0.01 increments, especially for script fonts.
There is an issue with templates in that if you have clicked on text that is a template, keep the ‘selling options’ window open, then click on a different text selection, it automatically assigns the first template to that text as well. This will create a lot of issues.
The menus are overly spaced out, you have to scroll for a long time to access things like text/line spacing. The old tool everything was nice and condensed.
The selected color code for background should be next to the selected color square (or at least below it), you can’t even see it in the same screen as each other because one is above the color dots and one is below.
Trying to get the custom color selection (where you can drag to get similar shades) is very buried. I had no idea it was under ‘web’ until a friend pointed it out. That used to be so easy to get to with ‘select custom color’ or whatever the button was right below the color.
Previously if you selected stroke options for one text, it would then remember those settings for the next one (color & thickness). This seems to no longer be the case. That was a nice feature so that you don’t have to constantly re-do the settings.
Things like stroke thickness, text spacing, and line spacing used to have an up/down arrow to go up by .05. Those used to also be helpful.
I’ve run into a couple of frustrating bugs today: Alignment Shift after Mirroring: When I group several elements, copy them, and try to rotate/flip them as a mirror image on the other side of my project, the elements within the group shift. They are no longer in the same relative positions as in the original group, even though they should be identical. Manual Rotation Input Not Working: I’m also unable to manually change the rotation/inclination value. For example, when the tool shows a value (like -5.52) and I try to type in a specific angle (like -6.40), the system doesn’t accept the change.
When using the format menu in the new too, it drops down and covers up the design to it is difficult to see just how your actions are affecting the graphics and text. Can you make this more transparent or move it out of the way? That would help.
Not happy. This may be easier for buyers, but it seems like a lot more clicking for creators.
Before, when I clicked Edit it automatically selected the first image. Now I have to click the image to bring up the Change Image option. Once I’ve done that I want to go straight to Sell. But now I have to click through Options (which is not relevant to creators most of the time) or tabs, then on the Review page I have to switch to from Buy to Sell every time. EVERY time?? Why? Can we have an option to set Sell as the default?
Just lots more clicking and clicking to change one little thing with this new tool.
You can actually skip the options usually. Just hit ‘review’ top center instead. But yes, in general still a lot more clicking to do just about anything.
Maybe it is not perfect place to ask, but how does it work with communication here? You (I mean Zazzle team) are reading feedback regarding new feature and address it, while in the meantime the greatest designer’s problem that is crazy ambassador program and 3party referrals is not being heard at all.
that is sad.
it would be of great value if at least someone explained and talk with us about what happened and if it is really going to be this way.
Regarding design tool I like this new one, but It would be amazing if we could have some position tool with measurments.
The art board also ‘hops’ when the ‘effects’ menu closes, and if you happen to click on another element before that happens, it causes that element to move. So let’s say you were on a text element to change something with the font. Once you are done, you click on another item, likely an art piece and not text, it simultaneously closes the menu and moves that item to the right.
I was also hoping this new tool would solve the white transparency issues, but it seems that is still there. It shows the black lines on gradients, and shows a full transparent white as a dark gray.
Before, when I clicked Edit it automatically selected the first image. Now I have to click the image to bring up the Change Image option.
Funny how we all have our own preferences as I used to hate that. It was often confusing having it default to the first top layer being the active one for editing. I love that nothing is active by default now, you can just click on what you want to edit from the image pane. I feel like we barely ever need to access the Layers panel now. Need it to drag & drop layers into a different order, and to toggle the Lock and Hidden icons. If we could do Lock & Hide from one of the option panels or right-click options, the only thing we’d need the layers panel for would be to re-order things.
We could click on everything from the image pane in the old tool, also! Except of course if it was below another layer, but even now we can’t get to it directly in that case.
What happened to +/- to scale up/down an image or text? Is the only way to do it now is to drag a corner? That sucks because then you have to reposition it and sometimes that’s a pain to get it exactly where you want. Being able to scale up/down without moving the center is a pretty important design feature.
ETA: Found the keyboard shortcuts in the Help but they are not working for me.
Right, I just meant it’s nice we can do that without the top first layer of a design area being automatically selected as the active element. I often found that confusing especially if that first layer was locked or hidden; was disorienting to have it highlighted in dark blue on the layers panel as the active layer but with no bounding box outlining the element on the image side. I just prefer it this way where nothing is pre-selected for me as the active layer.
First of all, what I am going to say is that this tool does not seem to have been designed by someone who actually needs to use it. There are so many things, already mentioned, hidden and requiring extra steps that it would be strange to think otherwise.
That said, I genuinely like the tool, but I believe many aspects still need refining. It is normal that we are all a bit unsettled right now because of the change, but after using it for a few days and knowing where everything is, you get used to it. Even so, I hope all those unnecessary extra steps can be improved, especially for a designer who uses it for hours every day.
For example, not being allowed to interact with a layer that, according to the system, may have cutouts — or perhaps I simply do not know how to use it — but I am fully aware that the layer is cropped; that was my aesthetic intention.
It does seem to be designed more to make the customer experience easier than the designer’s. That, in my view, is the key point.
My only comment right now, is that first, if it could be a little bit steady, I could maybe work a little bit.
Yesterday, each time I moved an object in the design zone, it froze and then I had to come out the designer and restart over and over and over …..
Really exhausting and finally depressing at this stage ! It’s not a few fixes that I hope, it’s a huge review of your specifications, product architecture unit tests, functional tests , integration tests and deep multi-targets usability tests.
I hope I’ll be able to work again in Zazzle editor one day, but am so uncertain right now.
