There’s no harm in this, of course, but my newest notification is telling me that someone liked one of my products, but it was in what I think was Chinese. The only English part was the liked-your-product part. Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

I got Portuguese recently- it took me a while to figure out what it was. Once you know the country, it’s easy to use Google translate (or Bing, which is what I use) to figure out what they’re asking, and send them an answer.
How do you tell the difference between Japanese and Chinese?
Given that Japanese characters are based on Chinese, I’ve no idea how to tell the difference. I looked it up and it seems that, over time, Japan has altered a number of the characters. It would probably take Westerners a great deal of study to be able to spot which is which.
