Generative AI Coming to Zazzle?

Yipes! No, I haven’t read them in awhile. I think they have this on Adobe Stock, though. Where you can change the “seller’s” photo with AI or something like that.

They also let you filter out any AI photos.

Yes, definitely interesting times. And it’s just the beginning. It makes me want to watch old movies and pretend that everything will be “normal” forever. I say that, yet I use AI daily lol!

I’m not quite sure how to put this, or whether I should say it this directly…

But honestly, to me Google as a search engine feels almost “dead.” At least where I live, I can barely use it anymore to find even the most basic, meaningful results. I don’t know how it is for you, but the current results often feel pretty poor.

So I really hope platforms like Zazzle would handle this better.

What concerns me even more is how many people now treat social media as an all-in-one search tool. At the same time, the question of how reliable a source actually is seems to matter less and less. Instagram, for example, is still part of Meta, but that often fades into the background. There’s no real way to do structured, comprehensive searches there — yet people trust what they see in a well-produced video far too easily.

YouTube has a similar issue, in my view — and in some ways it’s becoming less compelling over time. It feels like they didn’t adapt quickly enough to more modern, mobile-first viewing habits.

For context, I live in a country with a public broadcasting system that still provides something like relatively neutral news coverage. It’s increasingly criticized and questioned, but my academic background has taught me to always start with the same questions: Where does this information come from? Who is sharing it? And why?

I use Chatgpt for that, I don’t need Zazzle to be responsive and evolve its platform for that.

AI generated images may seem easy, but creating beautiful, well-designed images takes both design knowledge and skill. Unskilled designers produce what I’ve heard viewers describe as “AI slop.” And I agree, unskilled designers do produce slop. I believe the value of AI slop will decrease, and the value of well-designed and well-guided AI generated images will remain steady.
