There are 4 sizes of gift bags on one product template listing.
But if you start with the Large Gift Bag, and add a background color, then swap to any other size bag, the background color does not show up in the template or previews. This is because the smaller bags use only one “background template”.
So if you go back in, and add a new background color on a smaller size bag, then exit the Design Tool, you see previews of each size, but the color on the original large bag shows up.
It would be nice for the background colors to stick universally.
If I remember correctly, other things are not carried over to/from the large bag to the other sizes. I always consider them to be their own product and create them as “This size only”
The smaller bags I create with “ALL Sizes” and leave it up to the buyer’s choice, if they transfer it to the largest size.
IDK what’s up with the gift bags, but I created four designs a week or so ago, and had them all working correctly as far as changing sizes without losing any of the design. Now I go back in to view my products again and actually buy one for myself, and I find that all the designs show up on the large bag, but not on the three smaller ones. Or in one case, only on the large and the small. I’ve tried to edit the designs to repair the fault, but I can’t seem to get it right. I can have either the large bag, or the three smaller ones, but not all of them, no matter how many layers I fill with my design. Maybe you should consider separating them into two separate product types? It’s a confusing product to design for; I imagine it’s even more confusing to program. I urge you to simplify, simplify, simplify. Christmas is coming, and folks will be wanting to haul their gifts around… I was hoping to feature the gift bags on my Facebook page before the shopping madness strikes on Black Friday. But for now I’m going to hide those designs instead. Please let me know when it’s safe to publish them again.
