I am beside myself. I typically buy a lot of licensed art when they have a huge sale. I buy a bunch and that is it for a while.
just discovered that I lost a lot. Some of things I enlarge before uploading as I use them for larger projects. I am so upset. There are just empty pages. I don’t even know where to start again.
I don’t even have the stomach to redo this project to determine what is gone and not.
I’m not sure that I understand. Are you storing your art on Zazzle?
Yes. When I started way back I used externals. They broke after time so yes…I am storing on Zazzle.
The last day I put in long hours was July 6. I went away July 7,8,9. I got back to work after that. I “stock up” when the sales are on. This time more so. They must have back ups…but then I would have lost what I did upon my return. There is a way to 'merge" from a back up…but it is way past my knowledge now.
I don’t know. Maybe Zazzle can answer that question. I don’t store any art on Zazzle. I store it on my computer, and I back up my files weekly on an external drive. I hope you can retrieve your images.
usually you can download again from the website that you purchased it from – I would do that and, at a minimum, keep them on a flash drive.
I know…but I have been at this for a very very long time. I have bins of externals.
I just noticed that parts of categories are missing what is shown as being in there. I click to get open it up…and the colorful vs black and whites are missing.. even though I know.. I had an emoji packet. I went to their folder to get a heart one…but no hearts to be seen. Half of them are missing. I searched through already made products to try to copy and paste from one product to another. No luck yet. I spent thousands and thousand of dollars through the years…and now …it is so upsetting.

I just remembered where I got the emoji’s. This will sure take a while to clean up. I need many lifetimes for this.
It is never a good idea to only rely on websites to store your purchased files. You never know when the website is going to go down, temporarily or permanently. Even the graphics sites that say you have lifetime access don’t always last a lifetime; look at how Design Cuts suddenly disappeared and we had to struggle to download everything we had accumulated over the years but never downloaded because we thought they were safe on there.
I have two sets of external drives for backups. They are pretty cheap nowadays; I just picked up another 4TB HDD for under $100. It’s definitely worth the cost for peace of mind.
Another option would be a cloud backup, which has the advantage of not being susceptible to fire or other disasters, but takes a LONG time for the initial backup. Some of them allow you to send in a drive or drives and they will do that initial backup for you. But I don’t like the cloud, and having to be connected to the internet just to access my files, so I haven’t tried that option.
