I think Zazzle should take down this feature. I am experiencing a drop in my daily sales day by day. I am closely watching my traffic through Google Analytics. My traffic has increased because of regular Pinterest posting. But the lead conversion is decreasing compared to last year. There is too much distration for a customer when you send the visitor from Pinterest to Zazzle.
Its one of the sample screen When pinterst sends visitor to zazzle. Customer get lost in so many options and end up confused and buys nothing. While a screen when pinterst send customer to etsy there is a screenshot here
Not only it encourage customers to buy this very product by showing reviews in a clear manner, but it also shows the shop’s other products. And below all this, they show other options.
I don’t understand who suggested that Zazzle distract its own customers, devalue its own designers’ hard work, and end up losing customers. It’s not a win-win but a loss-loss situation, like a big time for designers, customers, and Zazzle for itself.
Yes, several people have commented in other posts (under ‘creator news’ feed) that there has been a drop in sales. I am not sure if it is the ‘templates’ feature, or the ‘moment’s feature, or something else that was changed, that is causing it, but something is. I noticed the first drop in June when ‘moments’ at the very least went into A/B testing. When ‘templates’ and I believe ‘moments’ also went into full effect in August a second significant drop happened.
There is a very inorganic drop happening. Knowing my own sales history and production/promotion schedules, there is something at play beyond the natural ‘summer slow down’.
I also don’t understand why we are making it harder for customers to see collections. Isn’t that how Zazzle can make even more money by cross-selling matching items. Or showing customers the closest options to the item they first chose and liked?
Hi, I think it is also the inflation and oil crisis, because everything is so expensive, that customers dont spend so much money anymore. They dont have anymore money left.
The drops are far beyond what would be seen from inflation/energy costs unfortunately. I also run a completely separate business that is even less ‘necessity’ than the items you’d find here on Zazzle, and that has not dropped. It’s actually increased a little in the past month or so.
I feel like this is what’s happening to me, and maybe all across the board, Zazzle is eroding our promotional efforts on singular products. Even AI agreed with me on this last night.
If I’d start promoting my store links, category links, or collection links instead, this seems to be the only way to have a better chance at getting any referrals. It’s that or using my referral id and tracking codes and submit to getting only 15%.
Between AI helping them [Zazzle], and even with AI helping me in strategic planning, that seems to be the direction I’m going in the future. I don’t see any way around this.
Granted, this morning I’ve been looking at several Pinterest accounts [following many of them], looking at the Zazzle pins, both created and saved. If what I’m seeing is correct, Zazzle is now using some kind of AI technique that when a ‘pin from the red Pinterest link’ is done, the title and description is reworked to be aesthetically more pleasing than before. And if this IS the case, I could go back to just using that old way. This seems good on one hand, but it doesn’t fix the overall abundance of shiny other products [under the product itself] the customer sees now when they click my pin.
There’s been a good thread on this topic about consumer responses to Zazzle’s site. The actual description and add to cart are so far down the page, and that’s wearing down my sales overall, I think. I can’t expect a new customer to come here, and be confused as to how to actually order the product. They’ll leave first, and think there’s no end to scrolling “other products” -as if they came here to intentionally shop. This distraction is AI’s way of Zazzle earning more 3rd party sales. Seems to be working on my royalties, how 'bout y’alls??
My sales have tanked, REALLY tanked, ever since “templates” & “moments” showed up. Coincidence? I hardly think so. Especially “moments”, where the template fields for customers have nothing to do with my actual product template fields. Extremely confusing, not user friendly. Please do away with this before holiday sales are in full force. I am now looking at income levels of 4 or 5 years ago! If the moderators want to look up my store sales data, they can see what I’m talking about.
I have zrank 9 on one of my stores, and watching my decrease in sales gradually is very disappointing. It seems all of my marketing efforts are going into the trash because of the swap design and the in-design tool template option. Because when a customer lands from Pinterest to my product page and ends up choosing someone else’s design, I get nothing in return. At this point, if you promote referral links, these referral links seem to have more potential to give you ( any amount of income at 15% referral) . And I am thinking of shifting my energy from creating new designs —–> to promoting other designers’ work. At least I will get some minimal portion of my effort of marketing in return.
Agreed. These features are rolling out to convert self refferal to third party links . ( Apprently it looks so… Well time will reveal the truth. ) By now using your own reffreal link ( instead of plain link) for pins or promoting other designers products with refferal code is the only way to get something in return.
Has anyone else looked closely at their official traffic numbers lately and tracked their visitor counts and link-overs?
According to Zazzle’s own metrics, my visitor count has never been this low. Google Analytics tells a completely different story. Since the product insights don’t provide any meaningful data anymore, I have zero clue what driving external traffic is actually accomplishing. All I know is that it seems utterly irrelevant how you bring someone to the site—I show zero visitors on collections and zero on products in the dashboard, yet Analytics clearly logs them. It’s almost comical when a sale does trickle through, just enough to remind me the platform still processes orders.
I really don’t like how these templates were implemented. I still firmly believe they aren’t generating extra sales for Zazzle, and certainly not for us.
That said, looking at the bigger picture, the broader economic climate might be a massive factor behind the drop in consumer spending. Personally, I’m cutting back and spending far less than I used to, and that seems to be happening everywhere.
So what I’d really love to know is what Zazzle’s platform-wide numbers look like right now. Are overall marketplace sales down across the board? Or is this slump just hitting the vocal crowd here in the forums?
I’d honestly consider shifting my strategy and promoting other creators’ products if they actually convert. But I have no idea if people are even buying at the volume they did years ago. Layering these UI changes on top of an already weird market just leaves me not knowing what to make of it anymore.
Mine are too. Over 25% drop in sales from previous months so far for me. I don’t think it’s the economy because people are still celebrating and especially with the holidays coming up, people buy always. Trending TikToks about the holidays certainly do not show a slow down in spending. Lots of people still saving ideas and in the comments people still looking forward to decorating and celebrating like usual. There are not very many complaints about money being tight this year.
In my Google Analytics, I’m seeing an increase in visitors, but a significant drop in retention.
My average time on site used to be around 1 minute or more, and now it is around 30 seconds. This is a very noticeable change.
So even though I’m getting more visitors, they are staying for much less time, which makes me wonder if something in the new customer journey is causing people to leave before making a purchase.
I think analytics includes bots as well. I’m not sure if all the bot “visits” are counted by Zazzle. It looks as though some might be but not all of them.
I gave up to understand what view counts and which are not. Sold products without views, so, I lost any trust in the information I get there. And collections, do not show any correct views according to the other pages. I use collections for Pinterest and some have some views and a lot of backlinks there. But on Zazzle, 0 or 1. Sounds not possible.
Asked friends and family and clients to check it to. I see them on analytics, but not one view in the insights. Feels often like a glich on my store. But at least, support never answered on this. I gave up. I am not important.
Hi all of you. I noticed there is no swap design option showing on my screen now, and it is exactly like the Etsy screenshot that I shared earlier in this thread. I think Zazzle has taken down the swap design feature. If it is. I would like to thank Zazzle.
