I loved old design tool for me it was always the best design tool at any POD, now this new helpless design tool absolutely preventing me from designing and this made me saddened. I loved Zazzle before exactly because of that, now I don’t enjoy designing at all. I won’t delete my store but once in a while I will design in mobile design tool. Anybody joined another POD?
There are no other good options that can replace Zazzle. But I’m still disappointed that they reduced the functionality of the design tool. The old design tool was by far the most robust in the industry!
There was no comparison to old design tool anywhere. Now this tool is worse than any tool in the industry. It ruined Zazzle for all designers, I am pretty sure of that. I miss old tool and I miss my old designer days on Zazzle which are gone now because of this unforeseen change for worse.
I can’t design now Connie now the way I used without our old design tool. You are right that Zazzle is the best among the PODs. I guess I will stick to designing something simple now using mobile design tool only that’s what I’ve been doing since the new tool.
Sorry for the typo.

There are other options. I just looked into alternatives yesterday. But I don’t see RedBubble or Society6 as a better alternative. Let alone CafePress (does that still exist?)
What I run into was the payment situation. All of what I saw, requires you to have a shopping cart installed on your own website. With my basic web design skills, that would be risky.
I did like that some of them are clearly geared to create more eco-friendly products. I think that is the way forward, and Zazzle has A LOT of room for improvement in this respect.
Based on my research, I believe that Etsy and AmazonMerch are the best way to go moving forward. Redbubble and CafePress are non-contenders.
I took the shocking news of old designing tool changed pretty hard at that time. Working now without designing in new tool, got used to it now but it’s not easy, desktop new design option is not meant for mobile either I like it or not. Not like the old one used to be, I always thought it was the very best designing tool among all PODs.

Just to update everybody I unjoined Teepublic. There is nothing better than Zazzle for me. I miss the old easy and simple old designing tool but I had to move on. There are products that require copy and paste, that I simply can’t design and the new design tool is unusable for mobile for me, I excepted that now and looking forward for changes and additions to mobile designing tool, I mentioned before those options that were available in old design tool. The designing process has changed for me but I found my fun in creating mockups, these days I am busy with tuning up all my old products and designing just a few products each day before it was the whole day designing fun
these days are gone.
I’m getting used to the new design tool. One thing that I hope they change is the ability to copy my images from one product to the next. For instance: when I create a collection, I would like to copy and paste elements from my invite to a sign, or rsvp card, or some other product. Right clicking on the element only allows me to copy and paste within that product…and not to another product.
The previous design center was perfect and it’s absolutely baffling why zazzle changed it to a confusing and limiting design center. It’s a really bad design and whomever designed it for them, should find another line of work. There are many bad things about the new design but one of the worse things is, you can’t tweak and change old designs. You have to start from scratch! Not good.
@dotellabelle getting used to is not the same as enjoying to have to click at least 4 times more to accomplish anything. And that’s beyond repair.
I haven’t tried, but I hear it’s very hard to get accepted on Amazon Merch but that would be a great place to sell. Amazon does one heck of a business and they say you don’t have to “update and republish” items like you do on zazzle. Once it’s there it’s there.
Not used to it and never will be. Can’t even revamp publish designs, have to start from scratch. Still looking for hidden features. Really sad that Zazzle ruined what was a perfect user-friendly design tool.
EXACTLY. Well stated! An old saying is, After a while you’ll get used to s***t (doo doo) under your hatband. lol
Thank you. Not easy for sure. You also can’t alter, revamp, make variations of old designs. You have to start from scratch. I frequently tweaked and revised old designs. Was efficient and a very important feature.
@Veselka_Store Just discovered that one. Indeed an important feature. That adds another hour to just one design … 😠
it’s what happens when corporate hires a so-called “expert” who makes big promises about growth potential and necessary changes to keep up with the competition, and everyone at the top just obediently goes along with it while disregarding any input from the lowly users of the website. It’s how game studios go under every single day, never gets old watching companies collapse due to the midwits at the top who think they know better.
You said it well.
I’m on Amazon Merch and it was easy to get accepted, I just filled in a form, I did say i had a Zazzle shop with links - so I think that helped showing I had experience - however the sales are very low on Amazon Merch, and they only allow you a few designs to start with, you can only upload one design a day to start, on one product! I’ve been with them for over a year now and have earnt enough to buy a cup of coffee and a scone! - maybe I need to promote more!
