Does this mean that I am going to have to remove every one of the referral links on items I put on my Website pages of my own? I have hundreds of items that build pages of the site and they were all made to code when making them. Is there a grandfathered in for items added before all this? It is unfortunate that I can not hire someone to change these. I don’t understand why you can not recognize my products with my own id. ? Please explain why the system does not see this? I believe it is going to have to be implemented so the computer can discern an old id on the new system. You can check it out

Please tell me this is only important for items that are new.
I have beaucoup pages on my external website, right after Z announced what you read below in the FAQ, I took the time to use find and replace on each item on all my pages. ON YOUR EXTERNAL WEBSITE, ON EACH PAGE, select each ITEM/select all,enter the (& or ?) ID in FIND, then leave REPLACE blank, when it’s done removing the ids, save the page. Then upload the updated page to your webhost. Took awhile to do, but it was worth doing. BTW, Don’t forget to removed ID on blogs, etc.

I can’t get my head around this. It basically means I have to go through all my blogs and website pages and remove the bit of code that Zazzle has automatically put in. What a waste of time.
It also occurs to me that if someone goes to Zazzle via one of my amended links that have had the referral code stripped out, and then so on to buy something else instead, I don’t get anything from that sale. It’s a conundrum.
The referral system has ALWAYS worked like this. If you were in the old Promoter Program with no code listed above, you would not have gotten a 15% referral on someone elses’ products either.
Which is exactly my point. By removing my referral code, I’m stopping myself from getting any commissions should a visitor then buy something else. But keeping the code would give me less if the shopper buys my item.
That was acceptable when we actually made the % (minus fee) like we used to. Now I don’t even make 10% on sales no matter what the referral is set at so I would hate to have to change everything. I am hoping I am over thinking this and it was already consider into the fee structure.
So if someone follows your link without your code to the store and buys from someone else you get nothing? That does not matter to me because I have made maybe 2 referral sale a month over the years. It comes out to less the 1% off all my sales. My products are good enough that I don’t need to worry about loosing the fee. I just don’t want to have to go through all my past pages and remove the code from my items. Making the best looking items is no longer an issue it is making the sales that matters now. I would have to sell an average of 50 (sales, not items) a day to make what I had finally worked up to and would love to sell that many . Can anyone help me? I am at a loss.
I was never in a promoter where no code was needed. From the start it was drilled into us that you had to add your code to whatever you linked to. I have my code in all the items on my own web page as I made them one at a time not shared from the Z page. So now do I have to remove my code in order to make more than 10% of the sale? I know it says 15% but I have not been getting that much.
Thank you, will you do this for me. I barely know how to add items to my site let alone all you have explained. I would just mess up the whole site. I am not a technical wiz, maybe years ago I might have tried it but that seems to complicated for me. I wouldn’t know how to find only my item links. I have an easy to use WordPress site used mostly and it updates on it’s own to GoDaddy. I have no idea how I would update to my host. This is not simple for us older folks. I think if one has been on the site for 10 or more years they should be grandfathered into keeping things as it was.
As for WordPress and GoDaddy, you may have to ask on their forums or their support link for help in removing your rf links. For WordPress, go any of your product links, look for the &rfxxxxx or ?rfxxxx id and remove it from each product link that you previously posted. Then check on GoDaddy and make sure the rfs are gone.
Make the changes, or leave everything as is, and only get the 15% royalty which may end up less than that with the new adjustments.
