I am reporting a persistent indexing issue in my store Fun & Pun Design Co.
Over 2 days, I manually updated the titles and tags for approximately 800 listings to comply with the #generativecontent tagging requirement that I just became aware of (I’m a new user).
Observations:
Stalled Indexing: While some items have cleared, a large portion of the 800 updated products remain invisible in marketplace search (verified by searching while logged out and sorting by “Newest”).
Frozen Performance: My backend analytics show zero organic views for the edited items over the past week. My own clicks register, but external traffic has completely flatlined. Many of these were trending items.
Metadata Mismatch: Many items still display a “Most Popular” badge from 7 days ago but are currently unreachable via keyword search.
Because these were manual edits, I am concerned the high volume of individual updates has caused a bottleneck in the indexing queue for my store ID. Could you please request a manual re-index of my store to push these updates through to the marketplace? I have nearly 800 items that seem frozen in time for 7 days now.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed on my end. About half of the edited items still do not show in the marketplace search, and the half that are searchable have had no new views other than mine in 10 days even on the “trending” items. There is something wrong. Here is an example of 8 “trending” items that I can’t locate in the search. I would like to request a manual re-index please.
The ratings filter has been broken for a long time so despite my having it set to see everything, I can’t see anything if it’s not just the default G rating. For random customers coming in, the default is also Safe (G-only products) so your products won’t show in search or even if they use a direct URL to it.
Thank you for this info. So it appears the “unsearchable” issue when logged out is related to my PG filter and not the indexing issue. However, I have 800 items that were previously getting views, that have zero new views for 10 days now post tag edit. “Trending” items now frozen in time. Of course not all of the 800 would have been viewed but surely the top 25 that have the trending diamonds should have been viewed in the past 10 days. New items I’m posting are getting views. I’m distraught! Not a sale yet and now 800 items that took forever to list seem invisible.
I wanted to post an update in case anyone else experiences the same issue. After 14 days my items started coming out of the indexing funnel and getting views. After day 18 about 400 of the 800 items still have no new views. And that may be normal, except that a lot of my previously trending items are stuck in the still frozen batch, so I do not believe it is due to just being undesirable products getting no views. Far more likely to be a mass indexing delay. On day 18 I greatly reduced my royalty rate in a desperate attempt to finally get some sales. Soooo discouraging to be at this for a month and no one wants my stuff, ugh. Anyhow, since I effectively made a new edit to these items, I may have sent them to the back of the indexing line again, so the future behavior of these items can no longer be solely attributed to the generativecontent tag, but I wanted to update on the original issue. Thank you (edits made for spelling)
