We all want to be promoted, but lately the requests here are random designers posting things they want anonymous affiliate people to promote. I get it, you’re special, I’m special, we’re all special. But isn’t this forum for people who want to share other people’s designs, and should these random show-and-tells be moved to the Show Me topic?
I’m not trying to pick on anyone in particular, so don’t get offended. It’s just a pattern now, and I’m asking a question about the purpose here.
It’s not about one thinking that he/she is more special than others.
Speaking for myself, I searched for a category like this “Show Me” but couldn’t find until I had already made a post and someone told me about this Show Me Forum. At first I understood it was a different forum, then it seemed a thread. Not sure if it’s a generic thread to leave just store links that I accessed once and is absolutely flooded. I’m still getting used to the forum and easily lose posts and answers here. I have to check my e-mails from time to time (and the notifications are usually from this huge topic, so I lose some of the more useful to me), so I’m looking better on my computer later to find the right place to post.
Affiliate requests just seemed the right place for me. It didn’t say specifically requests FROM affiliates or requests FOR affiliates. I thought it worked for both.

BTW, can I migrate a post myself to the right category? I wasn’t able even to erase a wrong one I’ve made (noob detected).

It does seem to be something that happened when we switched to the new forum. I guess the descriptions weren’t clear or stuff wasn’t really policed. Maybe the title needs to be changed since I guess “affiliate requests” could be interpreted as requests for affiliates as opposed to requests from affiliates.
@alissag Yes, I agree. The wording the describe the thread is what seems to indicate that posts may be from promoters looking for things to promote and from artists looking for promotion. I believe the old forum thread stated it was specifically for those searching for new items to promote (with specific topics).
The official description of the board now reads: The Affiliate Request board is where Zazzle Affiliates can submit requests for products that fit a certain theme, and Zazzle Creators can share their content for a chance to be promoted.
This is why Zazzlers have started using the board to showcase work they want promoted.
I think it meant that Creators were supposed to submit appropriate designs in the Affiliate request threads.
Any creator content share on this board should be in response to an Affiliate’s request. This is an Affiliate Requests board and not a place for unsolicited creator content.
I think that this should be pinned.
I definitely see where the confusion is coming from. That wording really does make it sound like it’s meant as a board for affiliate requests and for creators to share content not necessarily in response to a specific request.
For sure, it appears the description of the board is causing the problem. I don’t look at Affiliate Requests so much anymore after having had to plow through threads that belong in Show Me.
Dang, YES it is confusing. I don’t EVER hardly come here or post in forum and I posted in affilate requests as I thought creators were looking for affiliate marketers and I didn’t need to do that, because Im doing quite well and was just feeling altruistic that day. I thought “show me” was basically a little “humble brag thread” about new designs people were excited about like show and tell ( which I do enjoy seeing others so happy ). UGH. But, Reading this post above just turned me off to the whole forum in it’s entirety. No offense taken. This complaint just reminded me of social media internet warriors . No offense. 
I discovered the Show me board after posting here. No moderator migrated my post to the right place and I wasn’t able to do that (is there a way?).
But it’s sad that we’re being crucified because of a misleading description of a board. Even sadder to think that people who refers to our creations as “unsolicited content” are the ones selling our stuff.
Btw, I think things don’t work well for creators the way they are now. Affiliates can make their requests, and from what I’ve seen by now, they look only at their topic. And who doesn’t know the Show me board come here because wants to get affiliates. This Show me board has lots of topics where people post a lot (my e-mail is flooded) but receive almost no kudos because there are only creators there as affiliates seem to enter only here, but now we learn not to post our UNSOLICITED CONTENT.
We have to see what the promoter wants and create specially for them, unless we have the luck of already having their dream content.
There should be a single board where the topic started with [CREATOR/DESIGNER] or [AFFILIATE] before the title, so we would know which one is posting and eventually we could have the luck to be seen by people who could be interested in promoting our stuff.
@Store_owner & @catinarezi Both of your posts are more proof that Zazzle needs to clarify what the “Affiliate Requests” forum is for. Granted, we had a similar problem back in the old forums where nothing existed for affiliates and people were posting their latest-greatest designs in the forum dedicated to the ins and outs of promoting. So Zazzle created the forum for affiliates, and darned if it didn’t work truly well. Something happened to it here with the advent of the new forum software where the description isn’t as clear as it could be, though additionally there’s the problem where Zazzle has made it more difficult to affiliate for anyone other than oneself. (Blessings on Highton Ridley for mitigating some of the problem.)
Though the Show Me forum is simply a fun place for members to display their products, it’s nevertheless periodically visited by affiliates, and let’s not forget that these forums are public, meaning that outsiders can see what’s there too. Do we get much in the way of sales from there? Probably not, but people still enjoy posting there.
Agreed. This was the intended purpose of the affiliate design request forum.
The show me forum is more suited for product promotion.

I suspect Zazzle didn’t realize their description says affiliates can ask for specific products/designs and that creators can separately offer up unrelated products/designs. To match the original forum, it might have been better to say, “…can submit requests for products that fit a certain theme in which Zazzle creators can post content matching the requested theme.”
