Is there any way to tile an .svg file?

I just created a pattern in illustrator and created an .svg file. I noticed that I am unable to use the tile function in the Design Tool. Did I miss something?

I am not aware of any way to tile an SVG file inside the design tool.

I’ve noticed that too, the tile function is not available for SVG files. I don’t know why. Maybe they can make it possible, it would be good because using SVG files the customer can select different colors.

I ended up saving the file as .ai and tiling that. I decided that tiling was more important than changing colors on some  products. If I want a different colorway, it is easy to change the colors in illustrator.

Hey Rebecca,

One year later after your comment and I’m still looking forward to this feature, it would be a huge plus for the customization process for the customers and stores who’re selling high-quality illustrations in SVG format.

Any update on this please?  It would give customers buying customised fabric much more scope, and mean more sales all round.
