Please excuse me for asking, but your photo caught my eye simply because this entire topic has been on my mind lately. It really feels like everyone is just doing whatever they want at the moment, and I honestly don’t know what the right way to handle it is anymore.
I noticed the Gemini logo on your image—at least as far as I can read it. If that person isn’t real, shouldn’t it be clearly marked as AI-generated, considering it portrays a human being who doesn’t actually exist?
@doggenhaus I will consult with Zazzle support. Thanks for bringning this up to my attention, appreciate it. It’s a mock up that Zazzle encouraged us to use. May be I should stay away from creating mockups with people, I will think about that. Thanks.
Please don’t get me wrong. I asked in another thread whether something was AI content, and I did check the current guidelines here afterwards. They seem more recent than the older versions, but there is still nothing addressing this specific topic.
In the news where I live, though, it was stated very clearly, and I was able to look it up as well: whenever people are depicted, it must always be labeled that this is not a real person. This is largely about protecting kids so they do not try to measure themselves against a fake body. Beauty standards are constantly being distorted by artificial images that no real human can ever achieve, whether through Photoshop or now AI.
I am honestly at a loss myself here. I am just trying to find the right path for my own work so that I stay legally compliant while also doing what Zazzle actually wants. It feels like nobody really knows what to do anymore. We have everything mixed together at once. Even earlier in this very thread there are so many different images, but that was before these new laws were in place.
After all, this is a community board, and I genuinely believe we should be able to ask each other questions here. Please do not read this as criticism, I am simply looking for an answer to solve my problem with the same task.
I won’t, I genuily think we should ask Zazzle about this. May be start a topic in General Discussion board and ask them directly?
Yes @doggenhaus, I started one of the first threads about it here:
https://community.zazzle.com/t/theres-a-new-new-york-law-re-ai-synthetic-performers-in-commercial-ads-have-you-heard-about-it/316
[Please note: It got a big conversation going, but good reading. ]
I live in Germany and … the EU has a own rule. But, I just realized the Zazzle Guidelines changed, we had first this tag it thing, but today it was away. No idea how old it is.
I really think the idea to start a new topic is a great solution for now on this board.
