Subject: Urgent Concern Regarding Minimum Order Change
Hello,
I’m writing to express concern over the recent change to the minimum order quantity for decoupage papers — increasing it from 3 to 6.
This shift was made without any notification to creators, and it’s already causing confusion and frustration among customers. MOST all customers are going to be unwilling to order 6 papers or pay nearly $30 for a single design set, especially when they’re used to smaller, more flexible quantities.
As creators, we work hard to build trust with our customers and promote Zazzle’s platform. Sudden changes like this without communication directly impact our sales, our reputation, and our ability to serve our audience.
I respectfully ask for:
• A clear explanation of this change
• Consideration to revert or adjust the minimum quantity
• Transparent communication moving forward when changes affect product pricing or ordering behavior
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We value our partnership with Zazzle and hope to see a resolution that supports both creators and customers.
I am just sick.
I have already had other creators reach out to me about what is going on.
@Mark This has a massive impact on our decoupage stores. At the very least can you confirm that the minimum order for tissue is now 6 sheets.
Decoupage artists will certainly not be interested in 6 sheets of the same design as they usually only require 1, or maybe at a push two, sheets of tissue for their projects.
I just noticed this change this morning. I doubt that many people are going to want 6 of the exact same design. It would be nice, if this change is going to be permanent, if we could do three designs, just like the wrapping paper sheets. If sales weren’t bad enough, I suspect they will drop off significantly now! Very discouraging.
Hi Creators - we made this change the other day due to a supplier update. The goal is to improve quality while also lowering the cost per unit for customers. We will continue to monitor how this product performs.
Can you break it down for us a bit more? What “quality” changes would we expect to see? And by lowering the cost per unit by how much? That clarity would certainly give us some credibility when explaining to our customers. Thank you so much!
I don’t understand why changes as significant as this aren’t notified in the same way new products, trends etc are. Not the way I would conduct business for sure.
Hi Creators – We regularly make product updates based on supplier changes, pricing, and purchasing trends to ensure we’re providing the best quality and value to our customers. As part of this update, discount quantities were added back in. Unfortunately, offering a quantity as low as 3 is no longer feasible with our supplier, and lower quantities often resulted in re-runs. We apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to monitor product performance and sales.
I don’t know about other creators, but my tissue paper sales have fallen off the cliff. I hope Zazzle monitors the impact of this new minimum purchase, as well as the unaddressed technical glitch with 18"x24" introduced at the same time as our tool change. I used to make 2 to 6 tissue paper sales per week, but it’s been crickets in the past several weeks, even when I’ve eeked out sales in other categories.
It’s hard to know if this is the overall Zazzle malaise, the general economy, the new tool, the glitch with 18x24 sizes, the minimum requirements, or the chronic on-and*off supply issues, but it’s sad to lose the sales and long-term customers. I didn’t earn a lot per sale, but it helped a little, and it also added to Z-rank. Please do monitor future sales and compare to recent years, especially in light of economic pressures that customers are experiencing. Three sheets might be all someone can afford at one time.
@Sea-Change I only wish I had the insight of what they are thinking and how the supplier would set the minimum of Zazzle’s sales.
I have asked and asked about the issue with the 18x24 to no avail as well. They say it is turned over to their tech’s. I know they have a lot to manage BUT.
This happened to me the last time when they changed the sizes of the papers. It took months for them to get my store fixed. I still have designs that the old sizes are showing but they are crossed out. They should still be there.
There are many struggling out there and I know my customers can’t afford that much for that many papers
I’m wondering if the majority of Zazzle tissue sales go to the gift wrapping and wedding market? I rarely sell more than one, (set of 3 sheets), of a single decoupage design per customer. Maybe there are Zazzle shops where customers are buying in sets of 6 and above and that’s why the Zazzle stats suggest that this move is a good one. Maybe the Zazzle decoupage sales are just a tiny percentage of all tissue sales. it’s all guesswork on my part. We will probably never know.
I am happy with my sales of decoupage papers that is why this upsets me because my sales will tank with them having to purchase 6 of one design. NOW if we could put different designs on 6 sheets that would be awesome and something that they should think about.
