Needing to scroll down to access 'LAYERS' is driving me batty!

Okay, I was already a little batty, but it’s getting worse! Since layers is probably the most frequently used option in this panel (by designers at least), can we please have it back above the fold??? Having to keep clicking down every time we make any change to the design is really time consuming.

@Scott @Mark … can a moderator please forward this suggestion to implement a change?

I haven’t created new products in quite a long time - until today. OMG, the new editing system is just HORRIBLE. In every way.

There is a pretty big learning curve if you haven’t been here for a while, but try to hang in there cuz once you get used to it, it’s actually pretty good  … other than a few things that still need tweaking, like this ‘LAYERS’ issue.

I don’t have to scroll to reach it on my screen and I’ve got my browser (Edge) set to 110% magnification. I’m thinking maybe this is dependent on screen resolution or something? What type of device are you using?

Hmmmmm…interesting, it’s suddenly changed. It was still whacko this morning but just checking it now and it’s back to normal, showing the same as your image. I’m using Chrome by the way, and my screen resolution was set to 90% when it was having a scrolling issue. Since a lot of people ‘liked’ the original post, I’m assuming I’m not the only one who was seeing that longer panel version. Sigh, another mystery in lalazazzleland leaves me scratching my head and soldiering on.

Weird. Well, who knows! I’m glad it’s working for you now though!

Thanks for checking it out anyway, @Cat_Ritchie. You input is always appreciated

what device are you using? What is the operating system? What is the display size?

Thanks @Scott. As I mentioned to @Cat_Ritchie, it’s all working fine again now. I was on a PC using Chrome in Windows11 with a 90% resolution. It did seem many other people experienced the same anomaly since my original post received so many likes. It’s gone back to normal so we’re all good.

Happy to hear that this is no longer affecting you, @Barbara_at_Array_Sto .

If anyone else experiences this issue please let us know what sort of device you’re using. A screenshot is also helpful, and if you that screenshot can show the full page that would be most helpful (you can blur your bookmarks if you’d like).

It’s inevitable that some of the icons may be hidden on smaller devices, but the inconsistent nature of this is not expected.

Yes, it really does. I work across a 32 inch display and my 16 inch MacBook Pro, and screen space quickly becomes an issue.
Coming from Illustrator, my personal habit is to think in structure and start from the canvas up. Layers are fundamental to how I build designs, and I constantly rely on them.

Right now, the sidebar runs through edit, text, uploads, background, templates, elements, icons, options, and puts Layers all the way at the bottom. On a smaller laptop screen, that means Layers gets pushed completely out of view, forcing constant scrolling for one of the most essential design tools, while features many of us rarely touch sit right near the top.

The Options section is another big pain point. The logic feels scattered across the board. Sometimes options appear in that sidebar menu, sometimes they show up as the next to last step right before publishing, and simple choices like horizontal or vertical orientation are tucked away in entirely separate icons.

The naming of core tools adds to the confusion. Tiling is grouped under effects on most products, but then on fabric it suddenly becomes the Fabricator. Repeating a pattern is a basic layout function, not a decorative visual filter. Renaming or relocating standard functions based on the product creates unnecessary friction.

Grouping physical product settings, orientation controls, and fundamental layout tools into one consistent, predictable system would make the entire workspace so much more intuitive for creators and shoppers alike.
