New Crop Tool Update Is Unfriendly for Designers

Today I encountered a new update for the crop tool, where it opens a new window for cropping the image.

When I make the crop however, even if I hold shift to lock the aspect ratio, the image is sized down.

This is terrible from a designer perspective. Now there is no way to resize an image within the square shape I’d already established.

And I can’t test with frames because every time I try to add one I get the ‘Sorry, we couldn’t process your action, please try again’ error, whether on firefox-based or chromium-based browsers.

I’ve had that come up once or twice and I agree it is not helpful at all. I haven’t encountered it since, so I’m wondering if it is on a specific item type.  Because I think I encountered it on the same product type I think you have posted here.

This is the old crop tool, before Zazzle changed it to the new crop tool. I run across it every once in a while and just use it with no problems.
