Is it true that we can only get self-referrals from new customers only?

No.
It is hard to know. There was a post in which a Zazzle employee said that one of the goals of the ambassador program was to reward affiliates for new customers not to compensate for custom work. Sorry I can’t remember where that was. I am assuming that at some point this will be true, so I am not getting to attached to income that comes in as a self-referral. My Zazzle business model has always focused on increasing revenues by increasing sales and not referrals so it is business as usual for me.
As I have said before, I used to make my living through being a full-time affiliate for hundreds of programs. Many of them did only pay for new customers. So if I referred an existing customer I did not get any affiliate referrals or I got a reduced commission.

I get self-referrals from repeat customers. Just received referrals from two returning customers last week. So based on this experience, the answer is no.

I have not seen anyone speaking lately about whether they still get referrals through the affiliating they do. I have seen a few people say they do NOT. I wonder if whatever changes Zazzle is making will have the effect that promoting brings virtually no chance of any kind of a payout to an affiliator.

One thing I have learned is sometimes you can’t even trust what the Zazzle employee says to you. I’m wondering if the employee’s post I and Nelda saw was just this case. If Jill is getting repeated self referrals from the same customer that answers the question for me.
It would be nice to have a Z employee answer this question and put this information to bed once and for all.
