I found a list of keyboard shortcuts for a lot of stuff and entering crop mode just says two clicks. I’ve tried double clicking the layer in the layers palette on the left side, I tried choosing the layer in the design area and double clicking and nothing happened either way. Is there a way to find it within the tool without using a keyboard shortcut?
@DIANA You need to select the image layer first then the crop icon will appear on the tool bar
Thank you! I realized yesterday that the top menu that you have shown changes depending upon the layer you have chosen and what it is. I could not get the menu you picture to show up at all. I just realized the image I was trying to crop is a png file. I added a jpg file and when chosen that gave me the crop option. I could swear I used to be able to crop png’s but I could be wrong… Can anybody tell me if we used to be able to crop png’s?
PNG I can still edit and it gives me the crop options. SVG is the one that can’t be cropped.
Yes, I have cropped some of my png artwork in the past. I do not like this new design tool with so many hidden features now, that before were basically in plain-sight and more user-friendly! But since all of my original artwork is done via png I just checked one of my designs to see if I could still crop part of the image row of flowers out, and yes I was still able to select just one flower or two at a time cropping it. Though finding the way to crop that image was not as quick as it was in the old design tool! I’m on my Samsung tablet and used my S-Pen.
Go to layer, select your image, or just click on the image, and hit crop at the top, then use the corner handles.
Okay, that’s good that you can still crop the pngs. The file I am using is actually an svg–DUH! I am working on a saved design that I haven’t opened in awhile. Without my file name available in the layers palette that isn’t obvious at a glance like it used to be.
You are so right! i still have not found the crop feature. What dufus designed this new design tool? Everything was straightforward with the old design tool. Now it’s confusing, scrambled and with hidden tools. Super frustrating!
