I understand (and like) the idea of putting a t-shirt mockup behind the design in the design tool, but it’s not working properly when the color white is used with the classic printing (no underbase) setting. White should be rendering as transparent, but it’s not - it’s being rendered as white - which makes certain designs unusable.
I have the product merchandising options set to classic printing only, so white should render as transparent no matter what color shirt the user chooses, like this:
I am adding new product images to one of my Stores. I have created round designs especially for the tee shirts and other clothing. Now, I have done this for over 20 years, so I know what I am doing, but apparently the create product tool does not speak my language, because what I am doing and what IT is doing do not make a finished product.
The design is uploaded and the Tool is utilized for the chosen image to be placed. Image Preview shows me a denim jacket with my round design superimposed ON A WHITE SQUARE on the back of the jacket. It looks awful. . .naturally. . .and I certainly can’t offer that to my customers. What should I do: use the Description area of my listing to REASSURE THE CUSTOMERS THAT THE WHITE SQUARE IS JUST A PLACEMENT TOOL GLITCH, and really won’t be visible on the product I want them to BUY?
I notice in the “Transfer This Image” display that the denim jacket is shown WITH THE DESIGN SUPERIMPOSED over that same white square!
I have created hundreds of Denim Jackets since we began to offer them, and THIS is something I have never seen happen until the NEW Create a Product image placement Tool came into use.
Another PROBLEM with that tool is that the Frame it creates cuts the edges off of images. Now, my designs carry decorative edges. They fit perfectly well within the space available - but that frame thing cuts them off, and IT SHOWS that they have been truncated, so I tinker and tinker and tinker again to shrink the image away down, then enlarge the height a tiny bit, and then enlarge the width a tiny bit, over and over until I get ALL of my image to show up. . .then quickly click DONE - before it is once again truncated by that ##@^%@!! frame and I have to start all over again.
Yes, it has beaten me on occasion and I have just SIGNED OUT of Zazzle for the day. But that maneuver doesn’t get my designs uploaded and placed on product, so I am here to BEG YOU TO FIX IT - Please!

I ‘checked’ for posts regarding the issue before posting, but semantics being what they are today, I obviously didn’t use terminology that elicited direction towards Cat’s questioning of the Tool, as the response I got was that there were no other posts on the Forums regarding this problem.
I create my transparencies “at home” using my own software programs long before I upload designs, so I am not questioning the Tool’s adding a white square in quite the same way, but the Tool is FAULTY in so many ways, I can’t imagine a successful company allowing it to remain in use.
Zazzle, the old tool worked FINE - please just have your programmers keep busy by fixing things that don’t work, and let us use the already in place AND WORKING tools to upload our product-ready designs, get them onto product and get on with Life. Stop changing stuff at this busy time of year!!
