A lot of us use rectangles that have no fill, and a border color. How on EARTH do you do that in the new tool? I don’t see the transparent square under the color panel!?

Add a square - resize as needed the look for the “fill color” on the tool bar
press Expand to find the transparent swatch then click border color for whatever color you want

these are the kind of things that I am hoping eventually there will be little video’s on – i.e., “what are all the things you need to know about the color palette” . . . that is what will make the difference at the end of the day in terms of people being able to adjust; find answers; and not have to spend a lot of time trying to figure something out.

OMG I searched and searched but couldn’t find it. The trick is you have to click on the “expand” button in order to see the transparent option.

@VivianD117 Zazzle themselves should be doing these little videos to help. It shouldn’t be up to the community to create them. We don’t get a salary

OK - Another way to have no background ,
You have a background color (red). Click on the Layers section on the left panel (may have to arrow down to find it). Layers will show you the BACKGROUND field. Click on the Background and a trash can icon shows - click it and background is gone.

I stumbled on this last week, but it seems odd that you’d have to click Expand to see the transparent option. I use transparency quite often, especially on monogram double borders. If a cohort of Creators had been asked to participate in the needs assessment/speccing phase of this tool, I suspect this feature wouldn’t be so hidden.

It’s evident that the engineers that are working on this new tool don’t actually use it for any serious designing! I suspect that Zazzle is using some kind of generic plug-in or software engine for POD sites- in another post, someone shared a screenshot of Vistaprint, which is almost identical. The problem with this is that none of these other sites have the advanced customization and design editing capabilities that Zazzle had with their old design tool!
