While all text templates are set to “Allow Editing on Product Page”, they are not displayed on product page (after clicking Done). Is that intentional or a glitch? if the latter, please fix it. Thank you.
(not sure how to share a product in the making but I guess you can look into my Saved Designs and see; new foil cards are in the top row)
ETA: only flat foil invitations (256228287159873464) seem to be affected, a flat foil holiday card displays templates properly.
But it does seem like there are quite a few “issues” with this new product. I’m also puzzled that there hasn’t been an official new product announcement. I’m sorta wondering if they’re not really supposed to be public yet. Seems like there are a lot of kinks still being worked out.

The product that you’re linking to above appears to be from the Zazzle Templates store, which does not show template fields until the product is published. I would use the links below:
@Mark I think most of the issues have been noted elsewhere, but I’ll mention them here too.
There is no information on the size or paper in the right hand column where the rest of the product specifications are. This may be because at the moment there’s only one choice, but since customers pretty much NEVER read the “about this product” blurb, it would be helpful if that info was where it usually is. Also, even in the “about this product” blurb, there’s no info on the weight/thickness of the paper which is usually a big concern for customers.
The previews look terrible if you choose the silver foil option - especially on a dark background, and especially if you’re using anything other than thick fonts or big block images. I think it’s because the rendering has a black line around the edge of the foil area so it disappears on dark backgrounds, and just looks black on light ones. I know there are challenges getting “silver” to look good on all backgrounds, but I don’t think it works in its current state. It seems to work much better for the gold and rose gold foil colors.
The videos in my previews don’t look anything like the examples in the product announcement. They take forever to load and when they play, all you get is something that gets brighter and darker, but doesn’t really show any shininess of the foil. It looks OK for designs that are pretty much all foil, but if you intersperse print elements it doesn’t look very good. And if you try to share any of the videos, you get this:
I’m guessing these are the frames of the video or something? Well, anyway, if you want to see what I mean about the video not having the desired effect, click through to the above product. It just gets brighter and darker so you can’t see the normal text and doesn’t present the product in a very good light, IMO.
Also, if you leave the preview set to the video, your marketplace thumbnail shows the above frames, and not the video, at least that’s how it looks inside of collections:
I’ve had some trouble designing where I couldn’t get both the foil and front layer to have the same orientation. Here’s an example: https://www.zazzle.com/z/aft0dy0f. I can’t get the front layer to go vertical no matter what I do. Anyhow, I gave up and started over and the problem fixed itself, but it seems like the orientation on the front and foil layers should be locked together so if you change one you change both.
It would be really helpful if there was some way to see both the front and foil layers together in design view. It’s a real challenge to get things to line up correctly. I end up creating elements in the front layer and then cutting and pasting them to the foil layer - which works - unless or until you have to move something and then you’re in trouble. Not sure of the best way to handle it, but ideally there would be some way to group or lock together elements from separate layers so you could move them together without messing everything up. That’s probably a big ask, but even a more flexible grid (one where we could get tighter lines) would be helpful, or some sort of way to specify the placement of an object numerically so we can be sure things are lined up correctly.
I think that’s about it. I don’t mean to be a complainer, I’m really excited about this new product line and having great fun playing with it!
I didn’t notice there was a foil layer that you are suppose to design on, for the foil effect. I was just designing solely on the front side of the invitation not the foil layer. Dizzy here!
Coming here to say - Yes we need MUCH BETTER views of the foil. they look terrible really - and 3 tiny video views topp the examples .. and they are all exactly the same, TINY just with different backgrounds.. who cares about the background? - the customer needs to see the product.. BIGGER, Better and MUCH More Clear.. esp as someone mentioned, the silver - looks horrid. Looking at these examples, I’d be surprised if any at all sold - and there is a min of 10 which is fine but without being able to better see the foil … a great idea but deployed terribly -
