Looks like Zazzle has added something new to the new design tool or it’s being beta tested. It’s right under the product. So, if the customer doesn’t go any further than the quick edit, they can just replace the image and maybe the text.
But, you can’t crop or adjust the image in any way. Just leads to more confusion for creators and customers, not unless this is only meant for creators, which will still be a problem.
There will be a huge problem using just the quick edit, if Zazzle implements this as is. If you have layers or a template, you can’t just click on the product and change something. The template or layer will not let you change anything underneath it. It clearly states you can just “click on the design to make changes directly” well you can’t. I used the “disable object interaction” on my top template, but that doesn’t help any.
I really hope Zazzle doesn’t go forward with this as is right now and cause more confusion.
It looks like using the ‘Quick Edit’ mode is different when you’re logged in. When I’m logged in, I only get the option to crop photos for designs created by others. When I’m logged out, I get the option to crop photos for both my designs and others."
@plumb4me Thanks for posting about this matter because that’s good news for me. I have tested that interface both ways and I think it’s helpful to customers and creators.
You’re welcome. I find it helpful too, I just wish creators could use it while logged in. It would be helpful to make a quick change to a “placeholder image” and a year, while making new products or using the “replace product.”
I also tested it with a template and overlay on top of the images and I had no problem changing the text and images and cropping.
