It was July 12, 2017 when I launched my first comprehensive Zazzle course that taught my proven 5 Strategies through a step by step proven roadmap on how to succeed on Zazzle. Fast forward to today almost 6 years later and we are helping our coaching clients succeed on Zazzle quicker than ever before. I am so proud that I and my daughter @jenclarke have been able to help so many Zazzle creators who were not selling at all and coach them sell extremely well on Zazzle, some of whom are now earning over $20,000 a month.

I hope to inspire you with our current count of how our clients are doing on Zazzle. Most of these Zazzle creators started at ZERO sales before joining our Zazzle Course (The Profit by Design Academy) and are now at these levels:

370 ProDesigner ($100 earned)

234 Bronze ProDesigner ($1,000 earned)

77 Silver ProDesigner ($25,000 earned)

30 Gold ProDesigner ($100,00 earned)

10 Platinum ($250,000 earned)

3 Diamond ProDesigner ($500,000 earned) 

Most of these high earning clients started at zero earnings when they joined the PDA. Some went on to do our 1:1 private coaching with Jen Clarke and I. Some went on to do our 7-figure Seller Mastermind but ALL started in The Profit by Design Academy. 

NOTE: Some of the people at the lower levels are just starting our coaching program now and others at the higher levels are about to reach the next level. 

The success of these lovely people is due to the fact that they did not give up on themselves and instead realized it was what they were doing, not what they are capable of.

Hi @ElkeClarke  . At the beginning of my journey 15 months ago, I saw many of your videos. what’s stuck with me the most since I heard it is the “intentional products” and I’m more and more aware of what this means in the zazzle context.
I think I’m doing well but I don’t know if I can pass easily to the next level, if things get too difficult I’ll come to you. Thanks for everything I’ve learned from listening to you!

Wow, those results your members achieved are absolutely fabulous!  It is definitely something you and your daughter should both be proud of. And a wonderful testament to how hard those members have worked.

I will politely address though your comment “Free Advice” only taking you so far. I think it actually depends a lot on the source of that advice. In my own experience, I’ve taken “my own free advice” and seen remarkable results with my earnings (5% - 10% royalty at that time) jumping from $6,000 a month to $12,000 a month in just three months, due to a powerful new niche I introduced. I did this not just once but two years in a row. I didn’t do a course but I do have a solid background in business management and ownership which definitely makes a difference in how one approaches Zazzle and business generally. A business mindset being the foundation of business (not a strategy).

It was a buzz discovering and introducing such a powerful new niche to Zazzle, and it goes to show that free advice, when chosen wisely, can truly make a significant impact. I always find it fascinating how different approaches and strategies work for different people, and it’s a testament to the diverse nature of our individual journeys. So, I guess the key lies in finding the advice and strategies that resonate with us personally and align with our unique circumstances and goals.

In the meantime I note before you mention how Zazzle is a passive income. I myself notice a dip in sales when I’m away from Zazzle for too long. Trends change so quickly these days, and it’s crucial for us to constantly reinvent ourselves to stay on top of the game. It’s a valuable reminder that “doing nothing” won’t magically generate endless sales, not when designs become tired and outdated. Which is why I’m really intrigued and curious to see what your current earnings look like. If you’re comfortable with it, could you possibly share a screenshot? It’s always important to see the tangible outcomes of dedicated effort.

ps. The powerful niche I introduced has now got no less than 72,974 products, 24,036 of which are mine meaning that a lot of Zazzlers jumped on that niche and (I know this from feedback from a few) their earnings skyrocketed as a result. It is fair to say it is no longer a niche and as such I am having to reinvent myself because it doesn’t bring the rewards it once did, hence no niche is bulletproof and passive earnings are not guaranteed.

Creative Design: you said  I myself notice a dip in sales when I’m away from Zazzle for too long.

I think what some designers may not realize is that having a store here is not a self sustaining business. It requires activity to stay relevant and keep sales going. If anyone thinks you can build up and income here, then just walk away or just pop in now and then and expect that income to sustain itself it’s not realistic.

Recent health challenges right now create distinct distractions that keep me away from Z for patches of time during the day at least a few times a week. My wife fractured 6 bones between her leg and foot and can not drive. This means I am away from my desktop doing the food shopping, taking my wife to all her doctor appointments, etc. etc. etc. 

I’m not hear to complain or tell yo how hard things are for me at this moment… this will pass when my wife injury heals… my point is when I’m away from this computer my sales take a dive or a dip but it never thrives while I’m not creating or promoting. This really is a hands on business and I think the platform does sometimes reward those who are at this working smart and consistently once you’ve established yourself here.

Just a heads up to anyone reading about the success of others on this platform…
it didn’t come easy to them
it didn’t come overnight
and it doesn’t stay that way unless you continue to stay connected / logged in / and active while staying aware of trends and changes to the market.

I hope your wife makes a speedy recovery! That is a blow. 

And yes I also always see a dip when I’m inactive. It may have something to do with Zazzle recognizing/rewarding ‘activity’ on the site. I believe this is the case with other PODS too but it’s not something I can know for certain.

And yes, it’s not passive at all. The term work-from-home hadn’t been coined yet when PODs started up, but it fits a lot better than “passive”. Just because you’re on your own computer at a location of your choosing doesn’t make it passive.

I was hospitalized for 2 weeks 2 years ago and so didn’t touch a computer in that time. My sales did take a hit during that absence.

Yes, I think our friends and family don’t believe we ‘work’ at all! The last thing we want is the ‘rumor’ that it IS passive income reaching them! :rofl:

Sure it ticks over, but it dwindles …

Any holiday … sales dip, illness or injury … sales dip,  me running this course … sales dip.

Enough of us have observed this.

What we need is a family member to jump in our spots when we need a break.

Given how many options, styles, niches, etc are available through the Zazzle platform I think there is room for more than one kind of coaching or mentorship! Find what works for you and your business. I think it is safe to say there isn’t really such a thing as “passive income”.  Constant research, learning, and adjustment is required.

If you can please recall, after how many design uploads did you actually start making decent sales back then, 500, 1000 or more? Can you give a ballpark design uploads someone should aim for - 2023 and beyond?

It isn’t about the number of products it is about the ‘niche’. With a new niche (that has potential) you can hit the ground running with 1 product, just as a member of my course did this week! Or you can have 20,000 products that never sell. If you want to learn how to approach ‘niches’ join my course waiting list (the course is free).

I have always said to my family “I’m zazzling now” instead of “working”. I now wish I had called it “work” because they think I have been just playing around all the time and it didn’t realize it was real work.

I will look at your coaching material. Frankly, I’m quite discouraged about zazzle. I’ve been creating since 2015, and sell items regularly, but many items just disappear. Once in a while, some forgotten item sells, so I know it’s a good product, but it’s just lost in the zazzle shuffle. They’ve changed the software now so I can’t even artificially keep items from going red, so it’s very depressing. They finally got the forum working, so that’s a good thing.
