My main store is Col’s Creations with about 40 Collections. I have a second small store, The Pastiche Boutique, with 1 Collection. Viewing a Col’s Creations Collection, the one from The Pastiche Boutique store doesn’t show up in the “Other Collections You Might Like” scroll just because it’s statistically unlikely. However, viewing the one Collection from The Pastiche Boutique store, then the scroll shows 12 Collections from Col’s Creations. Because there’s nothing else it could show.
So I did a little testing this morning and the solution is simple though not obvious. For each Collection I already had “visible in these stores” set to just that store so that one store’s Collections wouldn’t be showing on the Collections tab of the other store. But below that is “Default Store” which was not set (see notes below for more on that).
So I started setting Col’s Creations as the Default Store for my Col’s Creations Collections and presto! - they immediately disappeared from the "“Other Collections You Might Like” scroll under the The Pastiche Boutique Collection. Just finished setting the Default Store for all of my Col’s Creations Collections to Col’s Creations and now the ONLY Collection that shows in the scroll on the The Pastiche Boutique store’s Collection is the one of The Pastiche Boutique products that I want there.. This stays true signed in or out. Here’s my one Collection from The Pastiche Boutique and you can see that now it doesn’t show any Collections from my Col’s Creations store on the scroll.
Collections are complicated since they are member level and thus can appear in multiple stores in multiple places including on your member profile. But for this particular situation, the solution is easy:
If you want only Collections from Store A to appear in the “other collections” scroll when viewing Collections in Store A, then set the default store on them to Store A.
Important note: If you are on the main Collections listing grid of either your store or member profile and use the Edit to open the Edit panel options for a Collection (without actually opening the Collection), setting the Default Store from there doesn’t stick. You have to actually open the Collection and then click Edit from inside the Collection and set the Default from there. Then it sticks and you’ll see it’s immediately removed from the scroll on other stores’ Collections.
Additional note: In my case, using the Edit from outside the Collection, it always showed the appropriate store already as Default. But opening the Collection and using Edit from there, it always showed no store selected yet. And even though setting a default from there makes it “stick”, when you return and again open the Collection and then Edit, it still shows as none being selected. That’s just a glitch I guess but don’t worry about it as regardless, the goal of not having that Collection show in other stores’ scrolls has been achieved.

Sorry this is so long but there were a lot of weird details I didn’t know how to succinctly explain. Bottom line is you can constrain the “other Collections” scroll to just Collections from the same store.
