Phantom orders?

Hi,
I would need to discuss with someone about a situation that has been occurring since July 23-24. I noticed that, according to Google Analytics, some “confirmed orders” are being recorded, but in my store I do not see any sales or changes in royalties. This phenomenon occurs quite frequently: orders appear as confirmed, but nothing shows up in my store.

Zazzle responded by suggesting that perhaps I am not directing my shares correctly or that I should join the Ambassador program to get the referral. However, I share directly through the share button and I am already enrolled in the program. Until that moment, I had never encountered similar issues. Furthermore, if these movements actually concern my store, I should see some activity within it.

I would like to know if anyone has had similar experiences and what they discovered about it.

Thank you very much for your attention.

@Ana99 More than likely - those “confirmed orders” that Google Analytics are reporting are for sales on other people’s products not your own.

When you share your products without your RF attached (eg directly sharing a clean link), a customer comes through on your clean link then purchases another designer’s product, you don’t receive any compensation (eg referral/sale) but GA will record a confirmed order.

That’s the gamble of sharing a clean link - you may get a self referral if it sells but the reality is, you probably won’t (due to the 60+ other products by other designers on your product page)

tldr - start sharing your products with your RF attached imho

Thank you, @Sara_H, in fact now it makes more sense to me; I finally understand what is happening. I am sure it is as you explained, because I share a lot and, of course, through sharing other products suggested by Zazzle are also promoted. For this reason, I am seeing many confirmed orders that, however, are not mine .

Could you explain to me exactly what you mean by RF? I share my products via share and thought that was enough to direct customers to my items. Thank you very much.

How do you share with the RF connected? I ask you this to understand if I am proceeding correctly or not .

The “RF” is your Your Ambassador ID -found here

You would have to manually add your Ambassador ID to your link (?rf=yourAmbassadorID) for your own products when you share them (it’s not auto added)

When you promote other designer’s products, it is automatically added using zazzle’s inbuilt share button.

When you attach your Ambassador ID to your own products - you’ll only be eligible for a 15% Referral Commission if it results in sale.

If a customer comes through your link and doesn’t buy your product, you at least have a chance of earning 15% royalty from that other sale (although never guaranteed due to customer’s cookie settings etc or whether they have visited zazzle before and picked up zazzle’s own Ambassador ID)

Hope that makes sense.

@Sara_H Thank you very much. I thought it would be added automatically during sharing; from now on I will pay more attention when I share. Thanks again.
