pinterest gives me error message when i add my associate number

I realized that many of my posts to Pinterest do not have my associate number. I started adding it and it worked for the 3-4 most recent pins. But when I try to add to pins that were posted a month ago – it gives an error message. At first I thought it was the link but even the shorter URL’s are giving me an error message.

I’ve also had that happen but no idea why.

I think I figured it out. As long as there are no analytics (views, pins, etc) you can edit. Once it has been viewed it can’t be changed. After playing with it a while I realized the most recent pins had no numbers and those were the only ones I was able to add the associate # to.
